Every Thursday, more than 170 people access our non-referral Community Hub, receiving food, freshly prepared meals, clothing, baby essentials, pet food, toiletries and compassionate support without judgement or stigma.

One hundred per cent of the funds donated to Helping Hearts Fylde are used to support the people who access our services, ensuring your fundraising creates a genuine local impact.

❤️ ANOTHER AMAZING THURSDAY AT THE COMMUNITY HUB! ❤️

Another brilliant Thursday spent supporting our lovely clients, only made possible by our fabulous volunteers, supporters and donors. 🙌

A huge thank you, to each of our volunteers who give their precious time, energy and kindness every Thursday to serve the community. We simply couldn’t provide the spectacular service we do without you. 🫶

🍛 AFTERNOON FAMILY & ELDERLY SERVICE
Our 3:30pm–5:30pm service welcomed families and over-60s for a delicious meal, plenty of conversation and a warm smile from our volunteers. Thank you ❤️

🌙 EVENING SERVICE
Our evening service, open to everyone from 6:15pm, enjoyed a scrumptious chicken pasta, generously cooked by our friends at Senior Moments Care and Moments Hub. Thank you so much — it went down an absolute treat with people asking for seconds! 😋 🍲❤️

🥪 And, of course, a special thank you to our brilliant sandwich crew army, who were busy preparing a delicious selection of freshly made sandwiches. ❤️

🤩 THURSDAY HAS ARRIVED AGAIN! 🤩

Every Thursday, we are honoured to welcome individuals and families in need from the vibrant communities of Blackpool, Fylde, and Wyre.

✅ 3:30pm – 5:00pm (families and over 60’s only)
A calm, relaxed session dedicated to families and those aged 60+, offering a warm, welcoming environment for those who may benefit from a quieter service.

✅ 6:15pm – 7:30pm
Our evening session continues as usual and is open to everyone. Families and those over 60 are still very welcome to attend this session if they prefer.

🤩 Today, as part of our wraparound support service, we have the team from Citizens Advice Bureau and their energy team on hand to help with all of your queries 🏠

Tonight, our dedicated and compassionate volunteers will be ready to lend a helping hand, offering a range of valuable services:
❤️ A warm, freshly prepared hot meal to nourish both body and spirit
❤️ A well-stocked food bank, ensuring those in need have access
❤️ A baby bank with essential items for infants and young children
❤️ A pet food bank to support your furry companions
❤️ Clothing for rough sleepers and children, providing comfort and dignity
❤️ Toiletries to support personal hygiene and well-being
❤️ A variety of hot and cold beverages
❤️ Specialised supplies for rough sleepers
❤️ Sanitary and hygiene products
❤️ Access to hot showers and fluffy towels
🤗 A welcoming atmosphere with friendly faces and compassionate support

We are wholeheartedly committed to supporting all families and individuals within the Blackpool, Fylde, and Wyre boroughs. No referral is needed — our doors are open year-round.

✈️ FLYING HIGH AT BAE SYSTEMS, WARTON! ✈️

Our wonderful volunteers recently received the VIP treatment when they were invited to BAE SYSTEMS at Warton for an unforgettable visit.

The team had the fantastic opportunity to take control of a flight simulator, and judging by the smiles, we may have discovered a few future pilots among the Helping Hearts ranks!

This experience provided a much-needed boost to our volunteers’ morale as we prepare to enter the busiest season of the year at Helping Hearts Fylde.

Our volunteers give so much of their time, energy and compassion to support local people every week, so it was wonderful to see them enjoying such a memorable day together.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at BAE SYSTEMS Warton for the warm welcome, the brilliant experience and your continued support of Helping Hearts Fylde.

Partnerships like this help ensure that our Community Hub remains here for individuals and families experiencing hardship across the Fylde Coast.

❤️ ONE EXTRA ITEM. ONE REAL DIFFERENCE. ❤️

When you are doing your weekly shop, could you add one extra food-bank item to your trolley for Helping Hearts Fylde?

It may only cost a small amount, but when hundreds of people make that same choice, those individual items come together to provide essential support for local individuals and families experiencing hardship.

Food staples that are always useful include:

❤️ Tinned meat and fish
❤️ Tinned vegetables and fruit
❤️ Baked beans and soups
❤️ Pasta and rice
❤️ Pasta and curry sauces
❤️ Breakfast cereal
❤️ UHT milk
❤️ Biscuits and snacks
❤️ Tea and coffee

Please ensure that donations are unopened, undamaged and within their use-by date.

Donations can be brought to the Helping Hearts Community Hub at 57 Boothley Road, Blackpool, on Thursdays or left at one of our usual community collection points.

Businesses, workplaces, schools and community groups are also welcome to organise a collection for us.

❤️ HAPPY RETIREMENT, ASDA-ANGE! ❤️

At the end of this month, the wonderful Angie—affectionately known to us as “Asda-Ange”—will hang up her high-vis for the final time as she begins her very well-deserved retirement.

As Community Champion at Asda Blackpool, Angie has spent years supporting charities and community organisations across the Fylde Coast. Through generous donations and grants from the Asda Foundation, she has helped organisations like Helping Hearts Fylde make a genuine difference to local people experiencing hardship.

Angie’s kindness, dedication and determination to help others have touched countless lives. She has always gone above and beyond for our community, and her support has meant more to us than words can properly express.

From everyone at Helping Hearts Fylde, our Trustees, volunteers and the people who access our service, thank you for everything you have done.

You will be sorely missed, Angie, but we hope your retirement brings you plenty of happiness, relaxation and wonderful new adventures.

Enjoy putting your feet up; you have certainly earned it! ❤️

💚 A HUGE HARVEST FESTIVAL THANK YOU! 💚

A massive thank you to everyone at St John’s C of E Primary School, Blackpool, for your fabulous Harvest Festival collection 🥰❤️ organised by St John's KS2 Worship Council.

We are incredibly grateful to all the children, parents and staff for their kindness and generosity.

Your wonderful donations will help us continue supporting local individuals and families through our completely free, non-referral weekly service at Helping Hearts Fylde.

Every tin, packet and item donated makes a real difference to someone in our community. 🫶

📚 READ TOGETHER. GROW TOGETHER. 🚀

Helping Hearts Fylde is about far more than responding to hardship. We also want to create opportunities where local children can learn, explore and grow in confidence.

Our free family activities bring literacy, science, technology, engineering and maths to life through stories, experiments, challenges and plenty of laughter.

Earlier this year, our Community Hub was transformed into a world of bridge building, coding, crafts, storytelling and hands-on science. It was wonderful to watch children solve problems together, try again when something did not work and beam with pride when they succeeded.

Every child deserves access to joyful learning opportunities, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.

We are committed to continuing these free community events—but we need local people and organisations to help make them possible.
