🖤💛 End of Month Thank Yous 💛🖤

As May comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to say some thank yous to some of the people who have supported Fylde Kids Foundation this month.

On 2nd May, the raffle and auction at the Stars of the Silver Screen Ball raised a fantastic £3,473. Thank you to everyone who bought scratch cards, took part in the raffle and auction, and donated prizes. We are incredibly grateful for your support.

We would also like to thank the Rotary Club of Poulton-le-Fylde for their very kind donation of £800. This came following Tony's nomination after hearing about our work through Simon at Wyre Cyclefix. Your support is massively appreciated and will help us continue supporting local children and families.

This month has seen an incredible number of clothing donations. In fact, we have been so overwhelmed by your generosity that we have had to temporarily pause accepting clothing donations while we work through everything that has been donated. We have also received generous donations of beds, fridge freezers, washing machines and other essential household appliances. These items have gone directly towards helping families who are starting over with their children following some truly unimaginable circumstances. Thank you to everybody that donated these items

A special thank you goes to Jack and the team at Northern Tec LTD for their continued support. Time and time again they have stepped in to help us, including connecting cookers for families when needed. Having reliable local businesses willing to support our work makes a huge difference.

We would also like to thank Andy at Pipeline Plumbing and Gas, who recently responded incredibly quickly when a family needed help. Andy visited the property to safely remove an old broken gas cooker and cap off the gas supply, allowing the Northern Tec team to then install a new electric cooker. This kind of teamwork helps us get families back on their feet as quickly as possible.

Last but not least, thank you to everyone who continues to support us by liking, sharing, commenting and tagging others in our posts. Every interaction helps more people discover the charity and the support available. Without your continued support, we simply could not do the work that we do.

Looking ahead to June, we will be growing our team. If you are interested in getting involved behind the scenes, we'd love to hear from you. We are looking for laid back, approachable people who are understanding of different situations, able to separate their own experiences from what others may be going through, and who are non judgemental and compassionate.

Together, we continue to make a difference for local children and families.

We have been INUNDATED with very kind donations recently, so much so that we have completely run out of room 🫣 so we temporarily need to put a hold on taking in any more until we have managed to sort through what we currently have. Please feel free to post any items you may have to help a family in need on our Fylde Kids Foundation Community Group

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity people have shown to our charity recently, the support in incredible 💛

That being said, we really do need some extra hands to hold our clothing drives and get these out to the people that need them.

Next Saturday 30/05/26 we will be holding our next Tryz inclusive training session at 10:00 - 11:30 down at common edge the home of rugby in Blackpool. This is open to children and young people with a disability and those with long-term health conditions from the age of 8 to 18. Can you believe this is the final half term before the 6 week holidays, hasn't it come round so fast!

For some families, the impending summer holidays also mean the pressure of preparing for a new school year. New high school uniforms, replacing worn out shoes, buying coats that finally fit properly… it all adds up incredibly quickly.

That’s why our uniform support will be returning again this year.

Our uniform bank will be open with plenty of donated stock available, giving families the chance to take what they genuinely need for their children.

Our funded uniform scheme will also be returning for families who are struggling financially and truly cannot afford to purchase school uniforms themselves.

We will also be accepting donations of clean, undamaged school uniform at the end of term. Please only donate items in good condition. Unfortunately, ripped, stained or heavily soiled uniform costs the charity valuable time and money to dispose of.

All children deserve to start the new school year confidently in a well fitting, smart uniform.

More information on both schemes, including how to access support and how to donate, will be shared soon.

🖤💛 WE’RE LOOKING FOR CLOTHING EVENT VOLUNTEERS 💛🖤

Fylde Kids Foundation are looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to run our community clothing events across the Fylde Coast.
Our events provide free clothing to local families and individuals in a welcoming, judgement free environment. We take our clothing stock to venues across the community to enable people to come and take whatever they need for their children

What the role involves:
• Collecting clothing stock from our office
• Driving stock to venues across the Fylde Coast
• Setting up and running events
• Speaking with visitors about the support we offer
• Helping people complete forms if needed
• Packing down and returning stock afterwards

We’re looking for people who are:
• Friendly and approachable
• Confident speaking with the public
• Reliable and organised
• Comfortable supporting vulnerable people
• Available one or two weekends per month
• Hold a full driving licence, suitable vehicle, and correct insurance

We’re a relaxed, down to earth team who genuinely care about helping people and this role can make a real difference within the community.

🖤💛 WE NEED VOLUNTEERS 💛🖤

As a very small team who run our own businesses and have other importantcommitments, time can often be very difficult to find. Due to this we are expanding our team!

Everything we do is powered entirely by volunteers and right now we urgently need some extra help.

We are particularly looking for people who can help with:

📝 Charity support and admin
Working alongside the trustees to help keep everything organised and running smoothly, helping manage communications, emails, applications, paperwork, spreadsheets and the general day to day coordination of the charity. Experience in admin based roles would be hugely beneficial.

📱 Social media and content helpers
Helping us create posts, share campaigns, reply to messages, capture photos at events and keep our pages active so we can continue reaching families who need support. Experience with social media management or content creation would be a huge help.

🚗 Donation collections and deliveries
People able to occasionally collect and drop off donations such as clothing, beds, furniture and other essential items for local families.

📦 Donation sorting and preparation
Helping us wash, sort, organise, repair or refresh donated clothing and items so they can quickly reach children and families who need them.

📮 Community outreach helpers
Helping us spread the word about our campaigns, events and donation drives across the community through leaflets and local awareness.

🎨 Event and creative helpers
Joining our dedicated fun day volunteer team and helping with fundraising events, children’s activities, raffle displays, décor and other creative projects which help keep the charity running.

☕ Community support volunteers
Helping at events and support sessions, welcoming families, making drinks and creating a friendly and supportive environment for everyone attending.

Even a couple of hours here and there can make a real difference. Many hands really do make light work and allow us to keep helping the children and families who rely on us.
