We are dedicated to providing humanitarian services in crisis and non-crisis situations throughout the world to the most needy orphans, widows and destitute, irrespective of race, religion, culture and geographical boundary. As well as responding to disasters and emergencies, Al-Imdaad Foundation promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities through our international offices. The Al-Imdaad Foundation has registered offices in UK, Indonesia, Jordan, Australia, Kenya, Bangladesh and head office in South Africa. These offices are established to take care of our various projects in these regions and to act as fund raising partners. The foundation is at an advanced stage to establish further representative offices in other parts of the world. The UK commissioners of International Relations and Cooperation and its various embassies are kept informed of our activities globally.

In parts of Syria, water doesn’t come from a tap. It comes on a truck.

Sa’d ibn Ubadah asked the Prophet ﷺ which charity was best for his mother, who had passed away. He replied: “Water.” (Sunan Abi Dawud 1681, Hasan)

The rain gets in before the worshippers do.

In DR Congo, many masjids have gone years without repair. Roofs leak. Doors and windows are broken. Paint is peeling off the walls. Some still carry damage from the conflict.

People still need somewhere to pray and to learn.

Allah SWT says: “The mosques of Allah should only be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day.” (Surah At-Tawbah, 9:18)

In eastern DR Congo, many clinics have been damaged or looted, and many patients can’t pay for treatment.

Our polyclinic in Bukavu treats them for free. This September, your Daily Sadaqah gave it fresh paint, new ceilings in the wards and maternity, four electric patient beds and a new consultation bed.

Supper, in some homes, is a question. Not a time of day.

It’s World Food Day. Most of the feed will be recipes and plates.

Every week, our teams cook in big pots and bring hot food into communities across South Africa. Right now, that’s around 1,200 meals a week.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Feed the hungry, visit the sick, and set free the captives.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 5648)

You don’t have to end hunger to answer that. One plate is a full answer.

In Gaza, one pack of bread can decide whether a family eats today.

Food is hard to find and harder to afford. Parents are going without so their children can eat.

Our Gaza Bread Project bakes fresh pita and carries it straight to families sheltering in tents.

A man asked the Prophet ﷺ which deeds in Islam are best. He said: “Feed the people, and greet those you know and those you don’t.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 12, Sahih Muslim 39)

Our Little Ambassador Maryam explains what one pack of bread means to a family in Gaza.

The fire hasn’t happened yet. That’s the point.

Today is International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction. This is what it looked like in Shaka’s Head, an informal settlement in KwaDukuza, South Africa, earlier this year.

Homes identified as high fire risk got fireball extinguishers and smoke alarms. Families got waterproof, fireproof bags for their documents. Drone teams mapped the area for fire and flood hazards.

Most of this work happens before anyone needs rescuing.

For many families, this is the only hot meal they’ll eat today.

It’s National Nutrition Week in South Africa. Most of the talk will be about eating better. In a lot of homes there, the question is whether there’s a hot meal at all.

Every week our teams serve around 1,200 meals across schools, townships, care homes and public facilities. They start early, cook rice with meat or beans, pack it into takeaway boxes and drive it to a different community.

For elderly patients in South Africa, that’s what a cataract is. They can’t read, can’t cook, and can’t see their grandchildren’s faces.

Our Little ambassador, Hasnain explains how one operation changes that. The cloudy lens comes out, a clear one goes in, and when the bandage comes off… the world is clear again.

Vision 4 Life completed 1,366 cataract surgeries in one year through public hospitals.
