Life moves in seasons, and as summer turns to autumn and winter, we are reminded that change is a natural part of life.
Autumn can be a season of letting go. The leaves change, the air becomes colder, and the darker nights arrive earlier.
For some of us, this can affect our mood and energy, leaving us missing the lighter, warmer days.
Trees release their leaves because it is time. In our own lives, we may also need to let go of old habits, regrets, expectations, or ways of thinking that no longer help us.
Letting go can bring sadness, fear, relief, uncertainty, or hope.
In recovery and with our mental health, progress is rarely a straight line. Some days we feel stronger; on others, simply getting through the day is enough.
Then comes winter.
Nature becomes quieter, reminding us that rest has a purpose. Sometimes we need to slow down, protect our energy, accept support, and give ourselves time.
A tree may look bare in winter, but beneath the surface it is still alive, gathering strength for what comes next. We can be like that too. Even when we cannot see progress, change can still be happening within us.
Whatever season you are in, do not rush yourself through it.
No season lasts forever.
Trust the season you are in.
Overall, another really positive evening, with great energy in the room.
The lads all celebrated the belated birthday of a very special member of Offload, who has been with us for over three years our very own Uncle Farouq.
There was plenty of cake, laughter and smiles all around as we celebrated together.
Finally, a huge thank you to Jasatโs Family Bakery for the phenomenal pies and K2 Taj Chippery for the chips.
