💜 World Narcissistic Abuse Awareness Day – 1st June 💜

Not all abuse leaves visible scars.

Narcissistic abuse can be subtle, confusing, and deeply damaging. It often involves manipulation, gaslighting, blame, control, guilt, and the gradual erosion of a person’s confidence and sense of self.

Many survivors spend years questioning their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences because they have been made to believe that everything is their fault.

Today, we stand with survivors and raise awareness of the impact of emotional and psychological abuse.

✨ You deserve to be heard.
✨ You deserve to be respected.
✨ You deserve healthy boundaries.
✨ You deserve relationships built on trust, kindness, and mutual respect.

Awareness is the first step towards understanding, healing, and breaking the cycle.

If this message resonates with you, please remember that support is available and you are not alone. 💜

Week 1 – Electrical Safety Basics

Over the past 6 weeks, we successfully delivered our Electrical Safety project, “Bright Sparks: Electrical Safety at Home.”

This project was designed to support women in our community with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to stay safe at home, particularly around everyday electrical risks that are often overlooked.

Through interactive sessions, real-life discussions, and hands-on learning, we explored key areas such as electrical hazards in the home, counterfeit products, battery safety, and fire prevention. We were also proud to work in collaboration with Lancashire Fire and Rescue, alongside guidance from a qualified electrician.

Each participant received an electrical safety pack to take home, helping turn learning into real action.

This has been a powerful journey of learning, awareness, and empowerment… and we’re incredibly proud of every woman who committed to the full 6 weeks.

Over the next few posts, we’ll be sharing a look back at each week of the project.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and this year’s theme is “Take Action.” 💚

Sometimes taking action doesn’t have to mean doing something big. It can be:
• stepping outside for fresh air
• checking in on a friend
• attending a community group
• asking for support
• moving your body
• taking time to rest
• starting a conversation about how you feel

At Their Stories, we know that connection, community, movement and safe spaces can make a real difference to mental wellbeing. No one should feel they have to struggle alone.

This week, let’s all take action, for ourselves and for each other. 💚

💜 Purple Day – Epilepsy Awareness

Today we are raising awareness for Purple Day, a global day dedicated to supporting those living with epilepsy 💫

Epilepsy is a neurological condition that affects people in different ways, and for many, it’s something they manage every day. Raising awareness helps reduce stigma, increase understanding, and create a more supportive community 🤍

💜 Learn the signs
💜 Know how to support someone having a seizure
💜 Be kind, patient and informed

Together, we can create a space where everyone feels seen, supported and understood 💫
