Thinking about your summer holidays?

This Sunday's is from a colour postcard of Lindridge House and Estate, advertising the gardens and swimming pool.

The other side of the postcard boasts "sixty acres of grounds including magnificent Italian and Water Gardens, Lily Ponds, Fountains, 200ft Swimming Pool and Herd of Shetland Ponies."

Taken at the opening of the original Village Hall in May 1920, this week's shows a crowd of people gathered out the front.

In the left of the photo, just behind the policeman, stands Frederick Pook who was heavily involved with the construction of the village hall as well as many other buildings in the village. He was also on the parish council, a member of the bowling club and captain of the village fire brigade.

To his left, beside an unknown woman are his wife Caroline and his daughter, Louisa, in the wheelchair.

For more on Mr Pook and his work in the village, you can read Hillary Davies' article on our website:

"We all got stuck in the mud and had to wade ashore - it was funny!!"

This week's was taken at the Beating of the Bounds on Whit Monday in 1961.

After visiting the parish boundary located in the middle of the estuary, the photograph shows the Reverend Ingram being lifted out the boat by Les Martin.

Does anyone recognise anyone else in the photo?
