Would not have happened without a Labour Government.

Great to see that BCSSS members in Barnsley will be getting their first increased payments today — in time for Christmas!!

Stephanie Peacock MP and I campaigned hard for this, and I’m extremely pleased that 1700 people across our borough will benefit from the change.

It has taken a long time and would not have happened without a Labour Government.

It has taken a long time and would not have happened without a Labour Government.

Today BCSSS members will receive their first payments from the Investment Reserve Fund.

This means an average increase of £100 a week with £5,500 backdated from November 2024.

After years of campaigning for justice on miners’ pensions, I am delighted this Labour Government have delivered.

🚨Today the Labour Government delivered justice for BCSSS members 🚨

Building on the Mineworkers’ Pension Scheme change, today the Chancellor announced that the Investment Reserve will be returned to members of the BCSSS.

This will mean an on average increase of £100 a week for scheme members.

I’ve been proud to lead the campaign in Parliament over the last few years on justice for miners’ pensions. Following so many meetings and letters with members of the scheme, the trustees, and Ministers, I am delighted that this Labour Government have delivered for the miners who powered our country.
