Rotary June Speaker Evening consisted of short presentations by members. David Yeadon spoke of the birth of stamp collecting with the introduction of penny blacks and penny reds. Hazel Yeadon introduced us to a collection if poems gathered by Gyles Brandreth - "Dancing By The Light Of The Moon'. Margaret Brown added a note of the mysterious with stories of local ghosts. Finally Gerald Blake gave us recollections of some of the topics introduced in his u3a Geography sessions. All were appreciated by the audience.

Rotary Barnard Castle had the pleasure of assisting with parking arrangements at St. Romald's Church, Romaldkirk last Thursday evening, for the Service of Licencing by the Bishop of Ripon, The Right Reverend Anna Eltringham of the Revd John McHale, who became the Interim Priest in Charge of the Lower Teesdale Benefice.

Our April speaker meeting was from our very own Ross Law! He gave a fascinating speech on his adventures in Mongolia, completely off grid, travelling with Eagle hunters (the Eagles do the hunting) and the wonderful communities he met with along the way. thank you very much Ross, it sounds quite the adventure!
