When our triplets were small something they loved to do on a Sunday afternoon was play hide
and seek.
Initially this started off in the house, the kids would run off to hide whilst Neil and I usually enjoyed a few quite minutes to ourselves before heading off to open the cupboards or wardrobe doors where we knew they would be squished into, often following the sounds of
giggling or someone getting frustrated that their annoying brother or sister wasn’t remaining quiet.
As they got bigger the bedroom wardrobes were swapped for Whyte’s Estate in Loughbrickland,
we let the kids go off to ‘hide’ in the forest. It never ceased to amaze me how they would always
find a familiar ditch to crouch into or tree trunk they could ‘hide’ behind.
Sometimes the game lasted only a few minutes, other times it went on for considerably longer but
it always reached a point when they simply couldn’t bare to be hidden any more. They would
begin to make a wee noise or move around a little to help draw attention to themselves.
As much as they loved the game and the perceived ‘freedom’ they had to go wherever they
wanted there was always that sense of relief too, they no longer had to crouch into that awkward
shape or hold their breath any longer.
They loved the fact that their parents were looking for them and longed for that excitement of being reunited again.
I was reminded of this game of hide and seek tonight.
I felt this wee post needed to go out to speak to the adults who are currently hiding away
behind that all too familiar tree trunk or crouching down in a ditch.
The same repeat pattern again and again when life and people are too hard to face it seems easier to hide away on your own.
Maybe there is even the perception that no one is looking for you, no one sees you any more.
I would love to remind you tonight that the God who made you sees exactly where you are
tonight.
His eyes are on you, in fact He has never taken them off you. You are so precious to Him.
Psalm 139 tell us we can never actually hide from Gods presence, even in the dark He sees us
like as if it was day light. He promises His hand to guide us and His strength to support us.
All you need to do is to quite simply call out to Jesus, let Him know directly you are ready to come
out of your wee hiding spot. He will meet you right at that point with excitement and great joy that
His child who once was lost has now been found.
If you feel you would like prayer for anything please feel free to get in touch, that would be an
honour for us to join with you.

We would so love to see you and please dont worry if you haven't got yourself all cleaned up from
your time hiding in the ditch, we just be so excited to see you.

Sarah
