Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge - National Trust Suspended high over the Atlantic Ocean, cross a 20-metre chasm to the rocky island of Carrick-a-Rede.

Connected to the cliffs by a rope bridge across the Atlantic Ocean, Carrick-a-Rede Island is home to a single building, a fisherman's cottage. Suspended almost 100 ft (30 m) above sea level, the rope bridge was first erected by salmon fishermen 350 years ago. As a conservation charity we are committed to preserving and protecting our special places and spaces for everyone to enjoy. ⚠️ Important Notice

A recent dog attack on a sheep at nearby Dunseverick Harbour is a timely reminder that dogs should be kept on a lead near livestock.

Sheep worrying can have devastating consequences, causing significant stress, often leading to short and long-term issues, including fertility problems, abortion in pregnant ewes, serious injuries, and in some cases, death.

Dogs have the potential to cause serious distress to grazing livestock, if not properly controlled. Preventing incidents like these starts with responsible dog ownership.

Please follow all on-site signage and keep your dog under close control around our special places to help keep grazing livestock safe from harm.

For more information on visiting our places with your dog, please visit our website⬇️
