We are absolutely delighted to announce that the ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” ๐๐š๐ฅ๐๐จ๐œ๐ค ๐‘๐š๐ญ ๐‘๐ฎ๐ง ๐ก๐š๐ฌ ๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ฌ๐ž๐ ยฃ๐Ÿ,๐Ÿ–๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐†๐š๐ซ๐๐ž๐ง ๐‡๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž ๐‡๐จ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐‚๐š๐ซ๐ž.

With over ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ ๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ, a fantastic turnout of runners and families, brilliant live music, volunteers, marshals, local businesses and supporters all pulling together, the day became so much more than just a race.

It was genuinely a proper community event full of laughter, encouragement, music, family fun and an enormous amount of goodwill.

A huge thank you to Garden House Hospice Care, our event management team, marshals, volunteers, musicians, sponsors, local businesses, runners, families and everyone who donated, helped, shared, supported or simply turned up and got involved.

There are honestly ๐Ÿ๐š๐ซ ๐ญ๐จ๐จ ๐ฆ๐š๐ง๐ฒ ๐ฉ๐ž๐จ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ญ๐จ ๐ญ๐ก๐š๐ง๐ค ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ง ๐จ๐ง๐ž ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ, and I donโ€™t want anyoneโ€™s contribution reduced to just a name buried in a huge list. So over the next few days Iโ€™ll be sharing some dedicated thank-yous to the teams, businesses and individuals who helped make the Rat Run happen.

The event costs were covered separately from funds already held in the Rat Run account, meaning the full ยฃ๐Ÿ,๐Ÿ–๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ is going to Garden House Hospice Care.

๐Ÿ€โค๏ธ BALDOCK RAT RUN 2026โ€ฆ WE DID IT!! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ€

Over 112 registrations, a brilliant turnout of runners and families, and what turned into the most wonderful day. ๐Ÿฅน

Even a few short, sharp showers couldnโ€™t dampen the atmosphere, if anything, they just added to it! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ ๐Ÿ˜‚

We had a warm-up led by a personal trainer with a broken legโ€ฆ and a RAT ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿคฃ, every single runner absolutely smashed it, the live music was genuinely top notch, and the atmosphere throughout the morning was just incredible.

Today reminded me exactly why events like this matter.

It wasnโ€™t simply a 5K.

It was families, friends, runners, volunteers, musicians, local businesses and members of our community all coming together, having a laugh, supporting one another and raising money for a very special cause, Garden House Hospice Care ๐Ÿ’™

There are SO many people I want to thank properly, and I totally will.
But after an extended singing performance at Hatfield House last night followed by todayโ€™s Rat Runโ€ฆ I am officially DONE. ๐Ÿ˜ด

So tonight, I just want to say:

THANK YOU.
To everybody who ran, walked, volunteered, performed, supported, donated, helped, cheered, brought their families along or simply turned up and became part of it, you made today what it was.

We now have almost 70 runners signed up for the Baldock 5K Rat Run and rumour has it, the Rat himself signed up todayโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜‚

Thereโ€™s a little 'get your own back' for the Rat this year, but I think that deserves a post of its own!

If youโ€™ve been thinking about joining us, now is the time. Run it, walk it or do a bit of both, it really doesnโ€™t matter.

This is about bringing our community together and raising as much as possible for Garden House Hospice Care. ๐Ÿ’™
