On Thursday evening, our amazing entertainer sang classic hits, such as ‘Dream Lover’ and ‘Teenager In Love’ during our weekly Pub Nights. We gathered everyone outside in the garden, enjoyed the refreshments and danced to the tune. We’re so thankful he came along and sung for us all!! We had massive turnout and a brilliant evening🍺🥃🍸😊

Over the weekend, we soaked in the sunshine during our Beach-style reminisce session. We drank refreshing strawberry lemonades, sang along to ‘Daisy Daisy’, participated in a sand castle competition, and chatted about our experiences at the seaside. Residents talked about how they’d enjoying swimming out into the ocean, hearing the seagulls and relaxing in the sunshine 🏖️

Additionally, on Sunday, a few of our resident's wished to watch us do some 'live sketching' for them. Residents would make a request to us about what to draw, and then we would then have a friendly chit-chat about their past experiences.
We heard about Cody, a beautiful "corgi-like" dog that visits with the family. The residents loves seeing the dog bouncing along and happily wagging his tail.
Also, it was fascinating to hear stories about their favourite car, such as the gray Rover 75 Saloon. We were told about how it drove along the quiet roads "smooth as silk" along the cosy suburbs 🚗 We had a great time getting to know our residents, and they were all very happy with their finished sketches.

Good morning everyone!!😊
We hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather today. We wanted to take this time to catch you all up on the fun activities we’ve been engaging with last week.

On Monday 18th, we gathered around to play a round of Ludo and ‘Crazy Eights’. We had a good laugh during our friendly competition. Performing Pets also visited us with their adorable pigmy goats: Flower & Bambi.

When Tuesday 19th rolled around, we got nostalgic with a good game of ‘Hook A Duck’. This game requires a lot of patience and skill to complete, and brought us back in time to our experiences at the Fun Fair. We were also delighted by Mike visit with Walter the Therapy Dog. As always, we’re over the moon with Therapy Dogs Nationwide visits. Sending them much love over this Spring season.

You may also have been aware of Wednesday 20th Trip Out. We invited families and residents for a walk around the charming town of Baldock. It a lovely day for it, especially with the Market in town. We treated ourselves to delicious cakes & coffees at Pixie’s Café.
We’re hoping to organise more fun trips out for our resident’s to make the most of this gorgeous weather, and would love for you all to come along to the next one too.

On Thursday 21st, we enjoyed delicious beverages and good entertainment together at Pub Night. We sang along to classic songs from the 60s/70s and had a friendly chitchat together.

Fizzy drinks and ice-lollies were handed out to our members of staff on Friday 22nd as our way of saying thank you for all their care and hard work!!

We had a go at creating a few decorative papercraft flowers today💐 We find arts and crafts are a great way to boost our self-esteem and express our creativity together. They are also sweet keepsakes that residents said they'd love to decorate their rooms with.

We were interested in engaging with our new magnetic 'Alice in Wonderland' themed fishing game. We raced against each other to collect our 'paper plate-biscuits' and gather up the points, having a laugh together and cheering each other on ❤️♠️
Also, we had a jolly time playing a round of football, faux darts and bowling.

This morning we welcomed back Mike from St Mary the Virgin, Baldock who came along to do Holy Communion with everyone. Additionally, he played peaceful hymns on his guitar and read us a few bible verses. We all had a brilliant time!

We're also raising awareness for Mental Health week! What boosts your mental health? We got together to voice our ideas. Resident's spoke about spending time with family, completing jigsaw puzzles, dancing, colouring, collecting things, going to the hairdresser, meditation and more!
