What a great meeting on Saturday! You don’t get many like this.
Firstly a big thank you to our visitor the APGM Mark Harry and our VO Ewan Forrest Gordon.
We got a candidate passed to us by Buckinghamshire Freemasons with strong military links, who is a perfect fit for the lodge.
The ceremony was fantastic and made better by the lodge being so full of visitors especially those recently initiated!
Our new Bro Nick, was the star of the first half, answering and conducting himself well.
Then onto a surprise second half where Mark presented Brian with a 50 years in masonry certificate and badge!
It was simply amazing to hear Brian’s history and his future plans, no slowing down for him, let’s see him in 10 years getting his 60 years.
The festive board was something else, filled with good food, humour and companionship. Conversation flowed and at times you couldn’t even hear the gavel over the sound of laughter.

What a busy weekend of love, loss and pride.
As a lodge with a rich military history we did a short service of remembrance before the lodge meeting.
The meeting then started with a eulogy for a recently departed brother who is dearly missed, he may have been short in stature but was a big character, the epitome of a Freemason.
We then followed this with an initiation.
Sunday saw the master of the lodge partake in the Aylesbury remembrance service and our mentor on parade in London.

Pegasus Lodge recently undertook a ‘Freemasonry in the Community’ activity in repairing and restoring the grave of a former RAF Officer – Sqn Ldr William Daynes MBE DFM. The grave had the appearance of not being maintained for some time with the headstone leaning forward and about to topple over the grave.
There are no records to indicate that he had been a Freemason although from Military records he was a medical technician based at the nearby RAF Halton at what was then the Institute of Pathology and Tropical Medicine. During his service career he had been awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal and admitted a Member of the British Empire.
Under the guise of the War Graves Commission, it is customary for the nearest RAF unit to look after graves of Service personnel, however, the nearby RAF Halton had not been given this responsibility and the grave, and its headstone, would have eventually been lost.
W Bro (Sqn Ldr) Bob Chevin and Bro (Sqn Ldr) Bob Neal agreed that the memory of a former RAF Officer was not going to be lost and armed with spade, stone cleaning fluid, and a brush, the restoration began. Having raised the headstone to its correct position and with plenty of ‘elbow grease’ the stone was soon restored to its former state. Some tidying of the grassed area and placing of a pot plant, the job was done. A small act, it didn’t take long, and it cost nothing – it doesn’t get better than that!

Oh what a day yesterday. Unfortunately Pegasus lodge couldn’t make the Buckinghamshire Freemasons Provincial meeting at Freemasons hall, Great Queen Street. Our 2 members who were there getting provincial honours have said you had another great day.
BUT, what a day! The installation of W Bro Conrad Evans taking the chair of King Solomon for the first time, was met with great ceremony and supported well with over 30 people at the festive board.
The festive board had the longest raffle to date, with a great blend of tradition and humour. Every single person left with a smile on their face with a promise to see every one again soon.
Big thanks to Hermes lodge No. 5532 for visiting, Buckingham Lodge No. 591, Wendover Lodge no9616 and Ferdinand De Rothschild no2420 masters for helping install our master.
Also, big thanks to everyone who came and made a special night for everyone in The Pegasus lodge, an installation that nobody will forget.
