More fly-tipping in Park Bridge this week… did somebody say Just Eat? 🚯

We know Just Eat do some great work around food waste, but communities like ours are dealing daily with the other side of takeaway culture: packaging tossed from car windows, dumped bags, and rubbish left in and around sites of biological importance, damaging habitats and wildlife.

Just Eat UK you talk about responsibility and sustainability. What are you doing to reduce takeaway litter and dumping in communities like ours? If you want to support local action and help protect Park Bridge’s unique environment, please DM us.

🌧️ Today’s community litter pick is postponed 🌧️

Unfortunately the weather isn’t on our side today, it’s just too wet to ask everyone to come out and volunteer safely.

But… we do still have cake! 🍰☕

You’re still warmly invited to join us at the Park Bridge Institute this afternoon for a relaxed community catch-up from 2pm.

We’ll be there and happy to:
• Share updates on the projects we’re working on
• Hear any ideas, issues or priorities you have for Park Bridge

We’ll confirm the rearranged litter pick date very soon. Thanks so much for your support 💚

🧤 Our next big community litter pick takes place tomorrow, we can’t wait!

We are keeping a close eye on the weather forecast. If we get heavy rain, we’ll postpone, the safety of our volunteers always comes first (the road through the village is risky at the best of times, let alone in poor conditions).

We’ll confirm tomorrow morning via our socials and newsletter. 💚

Angela Rayner has further backed people living in one part of the town to seize what they have literally on their doorstep.

If national media reports are to be believed, the Ashton-under-Lyne MP – touted by many as a future Prime Minister – could be forgiven for having other things in her mind.

But on Friday, February 6, it was all eyes on Park Bridge as she saw first-hand what the area’s Residents’ Action Group and Fund is fighting for.
