Gladys Fletcher was born outside Keady, during the violent years of the troubles. Gladys is the third daughter of the late Joseph Reid who was murdered in August 1975.
Following her retirement, Gladys rediscovered her passion for painting. What began with landscapes, and still life, has evolved into a powerful personal journey, capturing many memories.

Her exhibition opens on Saturday, 22nd August and runs until 28th August, from 10am to 2pm.

Wilfred Spencer “I am not an Ulsterman but yesterday, the First of July, as I followed their amazing attack, I felt that I would rather be an Ulsterman than anything else in the world. My pen cannot describe adequately the hundreds of heroic acts I witnessed, the Ulster Volunteer Force, from which the Division was made, has won a name that equals any in history. Their devotion deserves the gratitude of the British empire.”

Join with us tonight 7pm at Armagh War Memorial to commemorate the sacrifices made at the Battle of the Somme.

Day 3 of the Somme Association's 60 Miles, 6 Counties in 6 Days – Somme 110 Walk
This morning, the Somme Association and a dedicated team of walkers gathered at Armagh Royal British Legion for a quick cup of tea before setting off on today's leg of the journey from Armagh War Memorial to Portadown War Memorial.

The walk is raising awareness and vital funds for the Somme Association and Northern Ireland Air Ambulance. If you see the walkers along the route, please give them a beep, a wave, or stop and make a donation to support these worthy charities.

A special thank you to Deputy Lord Mayor Lavelle McIlwrath, who called in to show his support during his first public engagement as Deputy Lord Mayor.

Thanks also to Councillor Keith Radcliffe for taking the time to come along and support the Somme Association members today.
Best wishes to all the walkers as they continue their Somme 110 challenge. Your dedication and commitment are greatly appreciated.
