Sunshine Foundation Romania Caring for the forgotten children Sunshine Foundation Romania is a charity based in both Northern Ireland and Romania.

We aim to improve the lives and living conditions of abandoned children in Romania, by moving them out of overcrowded orphanages and into small family homes where they are well cared for. Ultimately we aim to integrate the children into normal life which starts by getting them an education and eventually a job. Our project started in 2000 and is getting stronger every year. Our success relies on donations from the public. We currently have 33 children in our care; they rely on your help as they followmthe path to freedom and normality.

Heading home after a wonderful week in Romania. Not as much painting done as the usual Beragh Group get through but we’ve a good list for next year 😀
We can’t share photos of the children and young adults in the Sunshine homes but we can tell you that they are all doing really well and loved all the treats they got this week. It was an absolute privilege to spend time with them, taking them out for pizza and pasta and then later kicking a ball, chatting, dancing and having the craic at our garden party, a tradition that Maureen and Fionnuala started all those years ago. 💕
A BIG thank you to Viorel, Ioana and all the lovely Carers that look after the kids, it’s great to see the kindness, love and support that is shown to all 💖
Thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraising efforts during the year from the Belfast Marathon to the Jumble sale in Beragh and all the donations throughout the year because of the efforts of so many volunteers…the young adults and children who benefit from your generosity are truly grateful and appreciative of your help and support.💕

The Belfast Marathon is this Sunday, 3 May, and this year Roisin, Caroline and Denise are joined with new recruits Claire and Siobhan. The marathon was sold out early this year and we almost missed out so a Big thank you to Mary for donating her team entry to us. Its all very last minute for the team so they'd greatly appreciate your support if you can spare a pound. Many thanks!

Thanks to everyone who supported the Jumble Sale in Beragh today, either by donating goods and money, baking, jam making or buying at the sale, we raised £2,930 (edited) which is fantastic ❤️
Over the last few days so many people have been baking, volunteered their time to help set up and sort bags of donated goods, selling items and at closing time, bagging up and taking all to SVP charity shops in Omagh and Killyclogher.
Beragh people are as generous as ever with their time and money, there has been such great community spirit, thank you so much 💓
A special word of thanks to Beragh Care and Development Association for letting us use their lovely centre and Farleys bar for the Sandwiches for all the workers today 💕
