WAVE BY THE SEA
A peaceful retreat, and a haven for me,
The refuge for many, is WAVE by the Sea.
A lighthouse of safety, the calm in a storm,
A welcome centre, a coming home.
This sleepy little village, with its church by the lough,
Has tranquil surroundings, where needy do flock.
Stillness broken only by surge and swells,
Announcing arrival to sand, stone and shells.
Bold and fearless, excitement exudes,
Whilst pursuit and retreat, boredom eludes.
Fluffy white petticoats, rise up on rocks,
Swirling and swaying, displaying lace frocks.
A percussion chorus, this can can delight,
Freedom in thine, thrashing with might.
Wildly refreshing, "baggage?" it mocks,
Release all your woes, to the WAVE of Killough.
Still again, birds sing their song,
Building nests in Killough,
A shelter from storm, where hope belongs.
