🌾🍂 Harvest Thanksgiving at Upper Arley Church 🍂🌾

It was a real joy to welcome the children and staff of Upper Arley CE Primary School yesterday morning into St Peter's Upper Arley Church for their Harvest Service.

Harvest is a wonderful opportunity to pause, give thanks to God for the food we eat and the world He has entrusted to us, and remember those who are less fortunate than ourselves.

It was lovely to share this special time together as a school, church and community, celebrating God’s goodness and the importance of gratitude, generosity and caring for one another. 🙏

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the service so special, and to the children for being part of this celebration.

As the school summer holidays begin, many are looking forward to a change of pace. After months of lessons, exams, assemblies, playground conversations and busy routines, summer can offer a welcome opportunity to rest, reflect and be refreshed.

We give thanks for teachers, teaching assistants, administrators, lunchtime supervisors, governors and all who help schools to flourish.

For some, this summer marks the end of primary school, secondary school, college or university. There may be excitement about new opportunities, but also uncertainty about what lies ahead.

We also remember those for whom the holidays can be difficult. The loss of routine, increased pressures at home, loneliness, financial
worries or concerns about safety can make the summer months particularly challenging.

We give thanks too for all our churches that offer holiday clubs, activities, meals and safe spaces during the summer, sharing God’s love in practical ways.

Loving God, bless all who learn, teach and care for others. Bring rest to the weary, guidance to those facing change, and comfort
to those who struggle. Strengthen churches and communities serving children and families this summer. Amen.

A MESSAGE TO OUR COMMUNITY

While we take time to reflect on the future of our church, Sunday services are currently paused until further notice.

The doors of the church building remain open.

We shall now begin to embark on a time of discernment and hope. Our church remains a place of faith, history, and community, and it is being considered for a new chapter as an occasional-use church, continuing to serve people in meaningful ways which includes our thriving wedding and baptism ministry.

We look forward with trust and optimism, and we thank you for your continued support, prayers, and presence.

St Peter's Church DCC (District Church Council) and members are holding their Annual General Meeting at 7.30pm, this Thursday 23rd April, at Arley House.
Parishioners are welcome to attend. The meeting is an opportunity to find out what has been happening in the life of the church, and also an opportunity to ask any questions.

There is no service at St Peter's Church on Easter Day, but there are services at other local church services including:

Holy Trinity Church, Trimpley at 9:30am
St. John the Baptist Church, Wolverley at 11am

All are welcome to come and celebrate with us ✝️

Everyone is welcome to come to Holy Trinity this Sunday, 5th April, to celebrate Easter Day! 😊
There will be a Service of Holy Communion at 9.30am which will include rolling the stone away from the tomb in the Easter Garden and transforming the bare cross with flowers.
It will be followed by good coffee, cake and an Easter Egg hunt.
