Alton Community Cupboard

Alton Community Cupboard Giving away surplus food. No referrals needed, no questions asked. Help us reduce food waste! Free! Always Free! We rescue food destined for landfill.

Perfectly good food is thrown away every day, to make room for the next shipment. We collect it, check it over, and give it away for free. Any food we can’t use is given to animals or composted. We only have one planet, let’s be kind to it!

And ANOTHER amazing and lovely thing to share today! This one is for Bordon πŸ’•

This is something I have wanted to do for a while, a little Dolly Pots swap shed ( that my amazing Dad made for me )
This is done quite alot in the U.S and there is also a little one in Alton.
Well now Bordon has one ... I have filled it with lots of little treasures and you are welcome to visit it from tomorrow onwards.. just in time for half term !!
The Rules are .... you bring something little from your home that you would like to swap with something I have in the swap shed ... please DO NOT just take things
I hope its enjoyed... I know that if there was one in Bordon when April , my daughter was little she would of loved it .

Things inside are .. bracelets , keyring, cool pens , 3D prints animals whistles , cars, small skate boards, little ceramic hangers I have made , little figures, small dinosaurs.

Its outside my house 9 jasmine way which is at the bottom of Hendon Road in Bordon Gu350xb ... I have a big heart bush outside my front door

Please use it and enjoy πŸ’œx

Update: the date for the next Book Cupboard is Sunday 14th June (11am - 1pm). Pop it in your diary now!

It was so lovely in the sunshine yesterday and thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat or to buy a book. As an added bonus we gave out chilled cans of pop and bunches of flowers, so you certainly got a lot for your pound this Sunday!

The temperatures were a little *too* warm for it to be a busy morning but with only two of these events under our belt, it's nice to see that we already have a few 'regulars' πŸ“šπŸ’•

We've got a good stack of books to keep us going for the next month but any donations of wrapping paper or tags are always gratefully accepted.

Sending you all cooling vibes for the week ahead πŸ’•

Looking forward to sitting in the sunshine with a good book this weekend? Let us supply the book! 🌞🌞🌞

This Sunday you'll find a great selection of pre-loved gift wrapped books at The Book Cupboard (y'see what we did there with the name? πŸ˜„πŸ“š), available for the teeniest of donations. You can't get much for a pound these days, but you can get the excitement of a mystery book! Oooh and we have extra pre-teen and teen books this month too!!

We'll be in a sun patch somewhere just outside the community cupboard between 11am and 1ish this Sunday. And don't forget to bring cash - this is not a high tech operation πŸ˜„

Warning: we may try and talk to you about books πŸ“šπŸ’•πŸ˜„

Lion President Paul Taroni and Lions, Lisa March and George Young, were honored to attend a special Civic Reception today at the Assembly Rooms, hosted by the Town Mayor of Alton, Councillor Mrs Annette Eyre.
The event was held in recognition of dedicated service to our communityβ€”a passion at the very heart of everything we do. It was a wonderful afternoon connecting with other local groups who make Alton such a brilliant place to live.
Thank you to the Town Mayor and Alton Town Council for the invitation and the lovely recognition of our club’s hard work!

THIS SUNDAY! The Book Cupboard is back!

Between 11am-1pm this Sunday 24th May, come and find us in what looks to be a VERY sunny high street 😎

For a donation as little as a pound, you can choose a pre-loved, gift-wrapped book for yourself or a chum. There are clues on the gift tag relating to the genre and content, but other than that, it'll be a delightful surprise as to what you get πŸ’•

We'll be set up by 11am and will stay until 1pm or until the books run out. It was lovely chatting to so many families last time and we're really looking forward to this Sunday πŸ’•πŸ“šπŸŒž

Please spread the word and remember, we are cash only so dig down the bottom of the sofa! 🌞🌞🌞
