🌺 The Remembrance period begins.

As we enter this period of reflection, we remember all those who have served, those who made the ultimate sacrifice and all those whose lives have been changed by conflict.

For the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, Remembrance is an opportunity to honour their service and sacrifice, to learn from their stories, and to ensure their legacy lives on in future generations.

Across the country, our cadets and volunteers will join their communities in paying tribute to the fallen. By standing alongside veterans, serving personnel and members of the public, they help keep the act of Remembrance alive.

We will remember them.

All our love, prayers and good wishes from across our Region go out to you all in No 1 Welsh Air Cadets.

A very, very sad anniversary.

A NATION REMEMBERS

This morning marks the 60th Anniversary of the Aberfan Disaster. The majority of number 1 Welsh Wing is made up of the South Wales Valleys. A proud area that has always had a strong sense of community. At 0913 on October 21st 1966 Wales discovered the price of Coal. A tip slipped killing 116 children and 28 adults as it engulfed Pantglas Junior School and a row of houses.

Today we remember the lives lost but also those who scrambled to the disaster. News articles of the time pay tribute 254 Aberdare Squadron ATC along with others, who rushed to scene to help. Our Squadrons are as deeply rooted in our communities today as they were then. We are proud of the role we played when required.
