Defying the odds! Charlie you are unbelievable .... We are so bloody proud of you, he has worked so hard the last 2 weeks trying to just move his thumb and this morning this!
He is so excited to start private physio at Sandville in a couple of weeks as soon as we get the new van so we can get him there.
One happy Charlie this morning!

Hi all,

Some exciting news, those who know Charlie know how much of an adrenaline ju**ie he is.
For his 18th birthday he did a sky dive and says its the best thing he has ever done, Charlie so wanted to do more jumps, but as his life has changed so much this dream seems to be slipping away. Charlie has therefore challenged a group of his family and friends to jump for him! Unbelievably 19 have agreed. on July 12th they will jump for Charlies fight. once the fees have been raised to cover the jumpers costs, 50% will be donated to Charlies fight and 50% to The Cardiff Teenage Cancer Trust, which have been an amazing support to Charlie throughout his illness and continue to be. The Teenage cancer trust provided Charlie with a safe and fun space to meet with his family and friends whilst he was in and out of hospital.

As Charlie has been so well we hope to get him to the venue on the day so he can support his jumpers. He is so excited about this.
Please if you can dig deep and sponsor these amazing people who believe me are bricking it but doing it just for him!
The go fund me has been amazing, but is quickly dwindling, helping to provide Charlie with things he's needed and making some of his wishes come true. We would so love to keep making amazing memories with him for as long as we possibly can.
Thank you all for supporting him and us as a family.

So today we called into The Rock pub to meet these lovely ladies for the first time. Friends of our auntie Sheila, they and another lady Ruthie follow Charlies fight and have kindly raised so much money for him enabling him to buy a new PC to keep him occupied as his old one broke a few months ago. They may be strangers but they are truly in our hearts. They were so happy and surprised to see us.

Day 2 of van hire, we are all absolutely exhausted but it was well worth it to see Charlie smile again today. His choice today was Porthcawl of course, The Waterfront for Gammon, a Beer, Latte, Donuts and then a Cadwallerders Ice cream. Bit windy but at least it stayed dry.

We managed to find a break in the rain yesterday and rented a wheelchair accessible van to get Charlie outside again. We asked him where he wanted to go and of course it was Roath Park... He wanted Judy to wear her dress that she wore there in February for their engagement. It also happened to be Judy's dads birthday too, so off we went and the sun shone for them at their special place. A lovely welcome at Cafe Nova again from the wonderful staff.

Having the wheelchair has really made a massive difference and quality to Charlie's life and we are now in the process of getting him a van so we can go more places to see that smile on his face !

Charl has been amazing the last few weeks and been really well, he is feeling stronger than he has in months; yes we know the tumour is still there and things will deteriorate again no doubt, but for now we are celebrating the good times he seems to be having.
After a number of calls and persuasion against what professionals first advised, Charl now has physio again and is so happy about it, he is working hard and making great progress with his strength and independence. He is eating, swallowing, talking and has some tiny movement in his left hand which he hasn't had for 3 months. He is able to wiggle his hips and hold his knees up, which is remarkable. Every step is an amazing achievement and means so much to him and keeps him motivated and positive. We only do positivity in this house! Where theres a will theres a way! He wants to stand again and even though he has been told this is unlikely as that part of his brain is destroyed by the tumour, he is still determined to try. His lovely physio Carmen has seen what he can do this week and will continue to help him every step of the way (pardon the pun) to achieve this.

We are a bit crazy but if we can move mountains for Charlie then we will.... We currently have a few things up our sleeve and we are trying to organise for him things that we thought were not possible only a month ago. Watch this space!

Thank you all for following Charlie's story, supporting and helping him through this awful disease.
The boy ain't giving up yet!

So yesterday we managed to get Charlie outdoors for the first time in 10 weeks. We have now obtained an adaptive wheelchair for Charlie as he wanted to feel the sun and breeze on his face. Charlie has been feeing quite well the last week or so and fingers crossed infections have cleared, So we think lets grab the chance whilst we can. It is tough for him as he has been in bed for so long and his muscles have significantly deteriorated. He doesn't qualify now for any rehab physio/OT due to being end of life 😢 but he is determined to do it himself no matter what!
I have to say I think I am going to be fit too pushing him up and down the hills at home 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣
Excuse the not so flattering video but who cares ... We are outdoors in the sunshine having fun, as Charl shouts faster faster Mama 😅 😎
