The Second Half of Our Swiss Adventure 🇨🇭

The second half of our week in Kandersteg has been just as brilliant as the first! West Lancs Cubs have packed in climbing, swimming, hiking, swapping, singing and exploring.

Eddie and Baloo had a great day at the water park, followed by climbing and mini golf at Frutigresort.

One evening we walked the light trail, a lovely quiet moment of reflection after all the excitement.

We took the Sunnbüel Cable Car up to a stunning viewpoint and got brilliant group photos.

And of course, the big highlight - Oeschinensee. The Cubs rode the mountain coaster, swam in the alpine lake and hiked around the incredible alpine scenery. A proper bucket‑list day.

It’s been an awesome week full of adventure, friendship, swapping, exploring and making memories that will last a lifetime. West Lancs Cubs - you’ve smashed it 🇨🇭

Our First Few Days in Kandersteg 🇨🇭

A brilliant start to our week in Kandersteg with Baloo, Eddie and Herdinand the Herdy.

We explored Thun, the gateway to the Swiss Alps and the Cubs got straight into badge and necker trading with Scouts from all over camp. We even ended up dancing with a Canada–UK contingent - proper international fun.

We hiked through the Swiss pines to Blausee, where the Cubs rode the glass‑bottom boat, played on the park and had lunch with stunning mountain views.

A huge highlight was the International Friendship Evening - Cubs swapping badges and neckers with Scouts from Canada, Portugal, Cyprus and all over the UK. Dancing, laughing, trading… they loved every minute 🌍

We even brought a bit of home to Switzerland with Lancashire hot pot, handed out Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls and sang Chippy Tea and Eggs, Sausage, Chips & Beans constantly. West Lancs spirit everywhere.

Baloo, Eddie and Herdinand the Herdy have arrived in Kandersteg with West Lancs Cubs after the longest coach ride ever and a seriously wobbly ferry crossing.

Rain didn’t stop us - tents up, badges and Neckers traded and the international campfire was unreal.

What an incredible weekend at last weekend’s joint Cub and Scout Viking Camp! ⚔️🛡️

A huge well done to all our Cubs and Scouts for throwing themselves into every activity with enthusiasm, teamwork and plenty of smiles. From Viking-themed challenges and outdoor adventures to campfires, games and making new memories, it was a weekend packed full of fun.

It was fantastic to see everyone supporting each other, trying new things and showing real resilience throughout the camp.

A massive thank you to all of our volunteer leaders and who gave up their time to make the weekend possible, and to all the parents and carers for your support.

We’re already looking forward to our next adventure! 🏕️🔥
