MSAGM Aber SSAGO is Aberystwyth’s local branch of The Student Scout and Guide Organisation(SSAGO).

Whether you’ve got a background in Scouting or Guiding or never went as a kid; we can guarantee SSAGO can definitely offer you something here at uni. ***ENGLISH BELOW***

Nid oes angen fod yn rhan o fudiad Sgowtiaid neu Guides cyn dod i Brifysgol felly os yr ydych yn newydd i’r mudiad neu yn aelod parhaol sydd eisiau profiad pellach rydyn ni yma ar eich cyfer. A page for anyone to follow the adventures of the Aberystwyth Student Scout and Guide Organisation (Aber SSAGO). We meet more than once a week in and around Aberystwyth and attend 3 national camp a year called Rallies, a national ball & much more, and better yet, you don’t even need to be a member of any other national organisation to join, so if you’re new to scouting and guiding movements, or if you were smuggled into a group at the age of 4 and just never left, we’re here for you.

Hey all, final email of the year!!

Here are our events for the week

Wednesday 27th May – 4pm onwards – South Beach by ‘The Hut’ – Beach afternoon

We are having a beach day (the weather is actually nice!!!). We will meet at the Hut at 4pm. Feel free to bring any beach equipment along. Please remember suncream, and plenty of water.

Friday 29th May – 6pm-9pm – St Paul’s Church – Potluck end of year event

We will be hosting our end of year event at St Paul’s methodist church. A google form is available on messenger chat. Please fill in if haven’t already to put your name down so meal allocations can be sorted. Any questions, please reach out.

Just wanted to say thanks all for joining and attending SSAGO this year. Those staying next year, hope you have a lovely summer and we’ll see you in September. For those leaving or graduating, congratulations, and wish you all the best for the future.

Rydyn ni'n cael diwrnod ar y traeth (mae'r tywydd yn braf iawn!!!). Byddwn yn cwrdd yn The Hut am 4pm. Teimlwch yn rhydd i ddod â unrhyw offer traeth gyda chi. Cofiwch hufen haul a digon o ddŵr.

Dydd Gwener 29 Mai – 6pm-9pm – Eglwys San Pedr – Digwyddiad diwedd blwyddyn Potluck Byddwn yn cynnal ein digwyddiad diwedd blwyddyn yn Eglwys Fethodistaidd San Pedr. Friday 22nd May – Movie Night/Presentation night – 6-9pm – PJM Hub
Join us for a movie night/presentation night in pjm hub, a chill social as still during exam period, come along for as little or as much as you like, and feel free to bring any study materials.
Sunday 24th May – Nant yr A***n – Timing TBC
We are hoping to have a hike at Nant yr A***n and watch the red kite feeding. More information will provided by committee through messenger chat ASAP.

Wednesday 13th May – Revision Picnic - 2-5pm – Field behind Edward Llwyd Building
Join us for an afternoon of study, relaxation and catch up. We will be on the field behind Edward Llwyd building. Feel free to bring along any study materials, snacks, blankets.
Sunday 17th May – Town Challenges – 2-5pm – Meet at Bandstand
Fancy a break from studying and exams. Join us for an afternoon of challenges around town. We will be meeting outside bandstand at 2pm to explain the challenges and rules. Winner(s) will receive a prize.

Apologies for the delay

Friday 8th May – Badge and study - PictureHouse – 2-5pm

Join us for a chill evening, there will be a badge available to be earned, but also a space different from your usual to revise/study. No pressure to do either, coming to chill and chat is also ok.

Sunday 10th May – Hike to Borth - 10am - train station

We will be hiking to Borth following the coastal path, will we then visit Borth Animalarium and take a train ride home. The hike will take approximately 2.5 hours.
We will be meeting at 10am at the train station in Aberystwyth if you hiking to Borth.
If you want to join us for the Animalarium, but don’t want to hike, then we recommend you take the 12:27 train to Borth as an alternative. Please get to the train station in plenty of time, and let us know so we can meet you at the train station
Costs:
£2.90 (£1.90 railcard) Outgoing Train (Optional, for those not wanting to hike)
£7.50 Student entrance to the Animalarium (Pay on arrival, please remember student ID)
£2.90 (£1.90 railcard) Return Train
If you are taking the train both ways, we recommend purchasing an Anytime Day Return for £4.90 (£3.25 railcard)
We will be aiming to return on either the 16:05 or 17:07 train from Borth to Aber.
Things to bring:
- Good trainers or walking boots
- Waterproof coat
- At least 3 layers of clothing
- At least 1.5l of water
- Lunch and snacks
- Any medication you may need
- A suitable bag to carry everything
- Railcard (if applicable) and University ID
- Sun hat, Suncream

Hello all, hope everyone had a nice break
Here are our events for this week
Wednesday 22nd April – Mini Olympics – 1pm-5pm – PJM Hub
We will be hosting our own mini-Olympics. There will be a mix of more traditional sporty activities but also some none. We will be meeting at PJM Hub, some activities will be inside, some will be outside.
Sunday 26th April – Committee goes missing – 2pm-5pm PJM Hub
Our committee will be going missing, and it will be your task to find them. We will be meeting at PJM Hub where more will be revealed

We went to the swings by PJM and brushed up on our bushcraft skills. And obviously needed to try the swings!

Aethom i'r siglenni wrth ymyl PJM a pharatowyd ein sgiliau crefft y goedwigaeth. Ac wrth gwrs roedd angen i ni roi cynnig ar y siglenni!
