💙 Learning Disability Week 2026 💙

This week we’re celebrating the talents, contributions and achievements of people with learning disabilities – and at The Hive, we’re lucky to have some incredible volunteers who help make our community what it is.

Today we’d like to shine a spotlight on oour volunteers Natalie, Emma, Mark and Raeven. 🌟

Whether they’re helping behind the scenes, supporting activities, welcoming people into the Hub, or simply bringing their own unique skills and personalities to the team, each of them plays an important part in what we do.

Volunteering isn’t just about giving time – it’s about building confidence, learning new skills, making friends and showing what people can achieve when given the opportunity to thrive.

Thank you for everything you do. We’re proud to have you as part of The Hive family. 💛

Last month alone, we distributed 124 food parcels (that's an average of more than four parcels every day) to people in and around Conwy. Each parcel represented someone facing hardship – whether due to rising living costs, illness, unemployment, low income, or an unexpected crisis. Without regular donations from local customers, it would be much harder to meet this level of demand.

The Hive - Abergele Community Action - home to Abergele District Foodbank is asking for donations to be dropped off at our local Tesco in Abergele or with us in The Hive - Abergele Pensarn Railway Station.

We are looking for donations of milk, juice, tins of meat, peaches and rice pudding this week please.

This week's detached session had an amazing turnout with young people getting stuck in, laughing, chatting and making the most of the session. With hot dogs for everyone and the marshmallows being toasted to perfection ; the vibes were just brilliant all round.
It was lovely to see everybody and even lovelier to hear so many thank yous!
We are excited for next week's session 😀

Thank you to everybody at Tesco who has donated this week. In May we distributed 124 parcels. These donations will go along way to support people in crisis in June.

If you are able to donate we are desperately in need of jam, milk, cereal, coffee and tins of meat.

Our collection point is permanently placed in Tesco Superstore opposite the self service tills next to the book shelf.
