What a great day we enjoyed at Meggernie on Saturday for the Big Beaver Picnic. From teamwork skills to pond dipping and discovering the joy of β€œs’more cones”, there was just enough energy left for some singing around the camp fire at the end of the day.
The weather did little to dampen our enthusiastic Beavers positivity and smiles!

Scouts got a chance to do air rifle shooting on Tuesday with the Strathearn Rifle Club in Crieff 🎯 It was something the scouts had wanted to do for a long time so we were very grateful that we could make it happen! Big thanks to Rob and his colleagues for helping our scouts in the night.

Scouts also went for a local walk and did a troop forum to suggest ideas for next term. There were some interesting requests! Watch this space πŸ˜…βšœοΈ

Our Beavers have been working on their Navigator badge over the last two weeks. They have created a large map of Aberfeldy, learnt how to identify features on maps and helped each direct each other while pretending to be in a white out!

Scouts had a brilliant camp at Nice Acres campsite in Crook of Devon this weekend. They did lots of different activities including knife work, backwoods cooking, pioneering, wide games, first aid and navigation. Of course we make smores on the campfire, too. Well done to everyone who joined us!! πŸ•οΈβšœοΈπŸ‘

Our camp for the weekend! Scouts are finishing up wide games at the moment and we're heating up some homemade tomato and lentil soup for supper. No doubt we'll all sleep well tonight, ready for more adventures in the morning! All is well ☺️⚜️

What a fantastic meeting our scouts had on Tuesday! ✨ We were guests of Meggernie Estate in Glen Lyon and had the most amazing time.

Scouts enjoyed a 4x4 tour of the estate (and its river 😱), watched our scout Cameron feed the cows, calves and wild red deer 🦌, we fed baby lambs πŸ‘, learned about deer management from estate manager Andy, and watched Cameron's dad Angus sheer a sheep and do a sheep dog πŸ• demonstration. Safe to say we were all very impressed and a fantastic night was had by all ✨

Thank you for having us!! πŸ™βšœοΈ

TrailJam 2026 - Blair Castle

Our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts took part in TrailJam yesterday in the glorious Perthshire sunshine.
We enjoyed building shoe towers altogether before setting off on our different routes.
Blair Castle kindly let us explore the wonderful grounds and the Beavers and Cubs had time to take in the amazing entrance hall. The children had lots of great questions about the weapons and animals on display and the staff were great at sharing their knowledge patiently with all the kids.
The Beavers enjoyed some time in the great park in Diana’s Grove while the Cubs struck out to The Whim.
The Scouts had set their own routes and spent longer out exploring and showing off their map reading skills!

A great day out and a massive thank you to Blair Castle for having us.
