5 of our wee group made it out today to tidy some of our planted areas. Thank you everyone.

The 4 x Black Watch Monument tubs, 2 x putting green beds and the 7 x planters at ABC nursery.

Not too many weeds considering the warmth and rain we’ve had. All looking good. The baskets round town still looking great after all the wind on Friday.

Chris the painter was out yesterday to give the Inner Wheel bike sculpture at the putting green a nice paint refresh. I think this is the first touch up it’s had since it was installed. Looks just like new again.

Great morning out today, welcome and thank you to Fiona who joined us we were informed today by a lovely lady that our collective noun is a Bouquet of Gardeners.. We spent an hour today, cleared the pesky chickweed from the planters at the black watch, did a quick deadhead at the Inner Wheel bed while we were passing the putting green and finished up with a quick tidy in the lower birks.

Next meet up will be 11am, Sunday 9th August. We’ll create an event to remind everyone nearer the time.

The hanging baskets are up.
Let summer commence. 🎉🥳😃

We had another basket tree incident on Friday, this time a delivery lorry knocked down our basket tree outside Fika in the Square. Should have gone to specsavers 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️

Those 6 baskets have been hung elsewhere in town until we get that basket tree replaced.

Another wee area planted up earlier today, by Alison and Isobel. Braving the rain, they ventured out and refreshed the 4 big planters at the Black Watch monument. They’ll be enjoyed by many tourists and residents over the coming months. Thank you ladies, I hope you’ve dried off by now.

We were out planting up the pots in front of ABC nursery at the Aberfeldy Business centre this morning. A wee burst of colour as you come into town.

The bird sculpture opposite the caravan park and tubs at the Black Watch monument will be planted up in the coming days.

Hanging baskets were delivered yesterday, they look fantastic, they will be going up round town on Monday.

Feldy in flower meet the second Sunday of the month, at 11am to tidy various planted areas around town.

Bruce has been busy, he’s got “Davie the train inspector” all planted up, ready for the baskets to appear middle of June. Lovely to see a wee flush of colour on the way into Appin Place. He’s also given the information board a right good clean in the lower Birks. You can actually read what it says now.

Thank you to everyone who visited the thrift shop and plant sale today, you’ve helped raise a load of cash to fund our planting round town and hanging basket display for 2026 season. We’re
grateful to everyone who’s been sowing seeds and tending plants for the last few months, and none of this would happen without the help of our tiny group of volunteers / committee. 🥳🤗🌸🌱😁

Feldy In Flower will be in the Thrift Shop from Sunday 3rd May, we will also have our yearly plant sale in the gazebo outside on the Sunday.

The summer hanging baskets and many planted public areas around town are all tended by a tiny group of 9 volunteers. The committee raises funds each year to pay for the supply of the hanging baskets, planted public areas, and the summer watering schedule. Paying for the plants and watering comes to a considerable amount each year.

We are very grateful to everyone who comes along and supports us. It really does help to make the town look cheery all year round for residents, business and visitors to the town. We are always on the look out for people who would like to offer an hour a month to help tend the planted areas. Please get in touch if you are keen to offer a hand. No gardening experience required.

We are sharing our week this year with Riding for the Disabled Association, who will take over the shop on Wednesday 6th May
