What a difference a day makes! Friday brought a deluge but by Saturday morning we were bathed in glorious sunshine. It was sunglasses all round at FeldyRoo! 😎

Fifty-nine people ran, jogged and walked our beautiful course, expertly supported, timed and scanned by our fabulous team of 16 volunteers. Thank you all for making the magic happen 🙏

A huge welcome to Jamie-Leigh, who completed her very first parkrun – we hope it’s the first of many! 👋

Congratulations to Zoe, Sandra, Fiona, Mairi, Stephen and Noel, who all recorded shiny new PBs. It was also lovely to see families participating together – parkrun must run in the family!

We’ll do it all again next Saturday, same time, same place. If you’d like to be part of our wonderful volunteer team, we’d love to hear from you. Please email us at [email protected]. No experience is needed and full support is provided. 🦺

See you next week 👀

🌞 Celebrate the longest weekend of the year with us at FeldyRoo Fitness Trail parkrun this Saturday!

With the summer solstice on Sunday, our course is looking absolutely glorious. The wildflowers are in full bloom, the greenery is at its lushest, and we’re even giving the course a good watering today to make sure it’s looking its very best… ☔😉

Whether you’re running, walking, volunteering or cheering from the sidelines, everyone is welcome 🤗

First timers briefing at 9:20 followed by the general briefing 📣

Afterwards, join us at Ailean Chraggan Hotel & Restaurant for tea, coffee, breakfast rolls, scones and chat ☕️ 🥓 🗣️

Well done to all those who took part in parkrun no 55 today. We had 68 finishers on a rather blustery day with occasional tantalising glimpses of sunshine. The trail was in excellent condition. As well as a good number of heroic locals, we welcomed visitors from Bristol, Montrose and members of two Gaelic choirs in town for the Mod.
This weekend will see the number of parkrun events since 2004 cross the one million mark- an incredible achievement. Since the first event, people have gone through a finish funnel 138 million times and volunteered on more than 16 million occasions!
At parkrun we have had 4191 finishes and 209 who have volunteered in our 55 events so far.
Massive thanks to the 17 volunteers today who made it all happen, and especially to Jennifer for reaching her 25th volunteering milestone today.
It all happens again next Saturday at 0930!

Football on the telly
Legs that feel like jelly?
Want bacon in your belly?
And trainers that are smelly?

Come on down to parkrun then!!

It’s our 55th parkrun this week at and we’re hoping for lovely weather and a bumper turn out as World Cup fever takes hold. There are no winners or losers at parkrun though- just runners, walkers, trundlers and wonderful volunteers!
Our rota is still short of a few marshals and we can’t go ahead without these vital roles being filled. So if you fancy volunteering, or have your support team in tow who would be happy to help, please message me here!

This is volunteer week, so today’s post is going to focus on them. Thank you to all our amazing 17 volunteers who made today possible- 3 cheers to you or should that be 17 x 3 !!

Who said youngsters spend too much time on their screens?? Not today they didn’t - they gave their ‘responsible’ adult a run to remember….trying to keep up. Today’s applause however goes to our youngest volunteers - Dominik who briefed the first timers AND ensured everyone aiming to complete the full 5km entered the finish funnel - once!
Lily encouraged everyone on bridge 1 with her huge enthusiasm. Both Dominik and Lily were fantastic volunteers today, thank you!! The participants loved you too!

Today we welcomed 65 participants to FeldyRoo and we must not forget the dogs! They came in all shapes and sizes with a varied willingness to go that extra km!! I suspect some humans felt the same!!

Adults, children, dogs make for an all inclusive combination at any parkrun. Today proved the point - they were all impeccably well behaved !!

We look forward to welcoming all our volunteers and participants on Saturday 6 June. I know parkrun is a run and not a race ….we had 80 participants last week. Can we beat that this week???

It’s time to dust down your trainers and step out onto the fabulous FeldyRoo trail, set in the stunning Perthshire countryside. You can be assured of an incredible welcome and delicious bacon rolls at the Ailean Chraggan as your reward!
See you there!!

A fantastic 80 runners and walkers took part in the FeldyRoo parkrun this weekend. We had an enthusiastic cheer squad of twin girls giving out high 5s and twin kangaroos as marshalls. 👯‍♀️🦘🦘

Congratulations to the 2 parkrunnrrs achieving their 50th parkrun, including our very own Neil Glover - particularly impressive given his commitment as an RD and regular volunteer! 🎊👏

There were 15 PBs and 15 volunteers - one per volunteer! So that makes all the volunteering efforts worth it 🤣.

If you want to put on a fetching pink vest and help volunteer in future weeks then email us at [email protected].

See you soon 👋

Throwback to our snowy January parkrun! ❄️🎿🏔The video below is exactly NOT what the FeldyRoo parkrun will look like this Saturday 🤣!

Please come and join us for some fun in the sun as a walker or runner. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🐕

We are still looking for a number of volunteers across the roles of car park and bridge marshalls, barcode scanners, and token distribution. All training provided in the morning and everyone is super friendly - why not give it a go this weekend! 🙋‍♀️ Email us as [email protected]

It was a bright and breezy morning for Event no 52 at FeldyRoo Fitness Trail parkrun, with no concerns for the heat alerts in place for some parts of the country.

We enjoyed meeting visitors from Dunkeld, Aberdeen, Aboyne, Kendall, Nottinghamshire, Holland and Australia. We very much appreciated hearing feedback that FeldyRoo is one of the friendliest parkuns, and that the welcome and encouragement of the volunteers was outstanding.

A huge thank you goes to our wonderful cheer squad at the finish and out of the course, and a warm welcome to first time volunteers Jeff and Lily. Do email us if you would like to join our friendly team - the roles are easy and enjoyable, and we will provide training to anyone who would like to give it a try.

A total of 54 people completed the course supported by a team of 17 volunteers; thanks to Helen who shared these happy photos. The fine conditions facilitated 10 shiny new personal bests, and bravo to first time parkrunner, John. Hope to see you again soon.

Can you volunteer before you run? Can you help as volunteer car park marshal this Saturday 23rd May? Easy and enjoyable job to greet arrivals and tuck them in neatly in the car park. Please let me know with your ID number and confirmation that you can be there by 845am.

I could also do with another barcode scanner so that you don’t have to queue up. This could also be a fast finisher who could jump onto scanning.

Thanks

Claire
