It was a lovely day for our walk up the Hill of Loyal and the Hill if Alyth today. The views were fantastic in all directions, South to The Lomonds, North to the Cairngorms, West to Ben Lawers and Schiehallion and East to Forfar. What a great way to enjoy the countryside, get exercise and have interesting conversations with people. Why not join us on our next walk in Glen Tilt on Saturday 19th September.

Why not join us on our next walk on Saturday 5th September. This circular walk rises steeply from the pretty village of Alyth to the top of the Hill of Loyal and then the Hill of Alyth both of which have great views over the Sidlaw hills and into the southern Cairngorms. Our next walk is an ideal one to join us on, it is a short but varied walk based on the Corbenic Poetry Path near Trochry in the Braan valley. The walk follows the Poetry Path along the Braan, through woodland and out on to moorland, with opportunities to pause and read 32 poems and view woodland sculptures. A short detour along the Old Military Road leads to a 'Wade' bridge while another detour goes to the summit of Torr Mor with fine views in all directions.

The walk is mostly on track or path but some rough walking on the moorland section. To join us go to https://www.ramblers.org.uk/strathtay
