Juhannuksen jälkeen juhlitaan sydänkesän näyttelyiden avajaisia, kun Valveen kesän näyttelyistä kolme avautuu ensi viikolla. Taiteilijat ovat paikalla Valvesalin Maailman arvokkain kello -teoksen ja Valvegallerian Held Meanings -näyttelyn avajaisissa tiistaina 23.6.2026 – tervetuloa mukaan! 🤩🎊
Climate Clock -teossarjaan kuuluva Maailman arvokkain kello -teos saapuu sydänkesäksi Valvesaliin Oulun keskustaan. Taiteilijapari Tellervo Kalleisen ja Oliver Kochta-Kalleisen rakentaman kellon arvo muodostuu oululaisten siihen antamasta ajasta. Yhdessä lähes kahdensadan paikallisen kanssa luotu taideteos on suuri mekaanis-elektroninen kello, jossa arvokas aika näkyy puista kellokoneistoa kiertävillä näytöillä.
⭐️ Näyttelyn avajaisia Valveella juhlitaan yhdessä taiteilijoiden kanssa tiistaina 23.6. klo 17.
Valvegallerian valtaa kesän ajaksi puolestaan Held Meanings – Exhibitions and Encounters -näyttelykokonaisuus, joka käsittelee symboleja, huolenpitoa ja suojelua. Galleriatilan kahdessa huoneessa esillä olevat Kemên (5) Take My Hand– ja Arlene Tuckerin Held -näyttelyt keskustelevat keskenään ja kutsuvat myös yleisön mukaan keskusteluun.
⭐️ Näyttelyn avajaisia juhlitaan tiistaina 23.6. klo 18–20.
ℹ️ Taiteilijat ovat avajaisissa paikalla ja luovat performanssin, joka tuo yhteen näyttelyiden teokset.
ℹ️ Näyttelyssä järjestetään kesän aikana myös englanninkielisiä työpajoja ja oheisohjelmaa.
Uusi kesänäyttely avautuu tiistaina myös ravintola Valveen Paljettiin, jossa nähdään Hymyilevä Oulu 26 -projektin satoa. Vuoden kestävän valokuvakilpailun tavoitteena on tuoda esiin vähemmistöjen ja yksinäisten ihmisten tarinoita sekä luoda tärkeää keskustelua yhteisöllisyydestä ja nähdyksi tulemisesta. 🫂

After Midsummer we celebrate the opening of Valve's three heart-of-summer exhibitions. The artists will be present at the openings of Valvesali Hall's "The Most Valuable Clock in the World" and Valve Gallery's "Held Meanings" exhibitions on Tuesday the 23rd of June – Welcome! 🤩🎊
The Most Valuable Clock in the World artwork – a part of the Climate Clock public art trail – will be displayed in Valvesali Hall, in Oulu City Centre during the heart of summer. The value of the clock is formed through the time donated to it by the Oulu residents. The artwork, created together with nearly two hundred locals, is a large electromechanical clock that displays valuable time on multiple screens surrounding the wooden clockwork.
⭐️ Join the artists for the exhibition opening at Valve on Tuesday the 23rd of June at 5 pm.
Held Meanings is an ongoing dialogue about symbols, care and protection. The exhibitions (5) Take My Hand by Kemê and Held by Arlene Tucker inhabit the two rooms of Valve Gallery in conversation with one another and invite others to join through public encounters.
⭐️ The exhibition opening event is held on Tuesday the 23rd of June at 6–8 pm.
ℹ️ The artists are present at the opening, and will create a bridge between the exhibition’s works through a performance.
ℹ️ There will be workshops and side events held at the exhibition during summer.
The third summer exhibition opens at Valveen Paljetti, where we get to see the results of the Smiling Oulu 26 project. The year-long photography competition, aims to highlight the stories of minorities and lonely individuals and to create conversation about the power of community and feeling seen.🫂
