📣 News: New research and development centre in Jyväskylä to explore renewable methane production from carbon dioxide and hydrogen

Reduciner is establishing a research and development centre at Mustankorkea’s site in Jyväskylä to test and validate its technology. In connection with the centre, Reduciner, Mustankorkea and Cefmof Hydrogen will carry out a methanation pilot to explore the production of renewable methane from carbon dioxide generated in Mustankorkea’s biogas production and hydrogen produced by Cefmof Hydrogen in Jyväskylä. Business Finland is funding the research project carried out at the R&D centre.

Reduciner develops technology that converts captured CO₂ and bio-based carbon feedstocks into renewable syngas and activated carbon. In the process, CO₂ is converted into carbon monoxide, which can be used as a fuel or as a feedstock for producing renewable gases. The technology creates new pathways for industry to replace fossil inputs and turn CO₂ into valuable products.

📣 Jyväskylään uusi tutkimus- ja kehityskeskus – hiilidioksidista ja vedystä uusiutuvaa metaania

Reduciner perustaa Mustankorkean alueelle Jyväskylään tutkimus- ja kehityskeskuksen teknologiansa testaamista ja validointia varten.

Keskuksen yhteydessä Reduciner, Mustankorkea ja Cefmof Hydrogen toteuttavat metanointipilotin, jossa tutkitaan uusiutuvan metaanin tuotantoa Mustankorkean biokaasuntuotannossa syntyvästä hiilidioksidista ja Cefmof Hydrogenin Jyväskylässä tuottamasta vedystä Reducinerin teknologialla. Business Finland rahoittaa tutkimus- ja kehityskeskuksessa toteutettavaa tutkimushanketta.

Reducinerin tutkimus- ja kehityskeskuksessa toteutettavassa metanointipilotissa yhdistyvät Mustankorkean biokaasuntuotannossa syntyvä biogeeninen hiilidioksidi, Reducinerin teknologia ja Cefmof Hydrogenin Jyväskylässä tuottama vety.

Reduciner vastaa synteesikaasun tuotannosta ja metanointikokeiden toteuttamisesta, Mustankorkea prosessissa hyödynnettävän hiilidioksidin toimittamisesta ja Cefmof Hydrogen vedyn tuottamisesta ja toimittamisesta. Vety tuotetaan Cefmof Hydrogenin Jyväskylän vedyntuotantoyksikössä.

🔍 How can we make learning about hydrogen exciting, inspiring and memorable? 
 
This summer, Cefmof organised its second Hydrogen Pitstop event in Jyväskylä. The event showcased potential applications of hydrogen, including a hydrogen sauna, food cooked in a hydrogen oven and hydrogen-powered RC cars, to inspire visitors. 🚘💧
 
Nearly 5,400 people came to the event over the three days. Many young people and families learned about hydrogen through various activities. 
 
Cefmof’s mission is to help people understand the practical potential of hydrogen, supporting its integration into everyday life by making it accessible and offering inspiring experiences. 🌍🌿

Can hydrogen help power the future of recreational boating? 🚤💧

Cefmof and Yamaha Motor are exploring that question with the Hydrogen Sauna Boat, a new proof-of-concept project developed to test hydrogen solutions in a recreational watercraft environment. (FI/EN) 💧 Vetyvarikko järjestettiin jälleen Jyväskylässä, tuoden vedyn lähemmäs yleisöä käytännön kokemusten kautta!

Kolmipäiväisen tapahtuman aikana (30.7.–1.8.) Vetyvarikolla vieraili lähes 5 200 kävijää. He pääsivät tutustumaan vetyyn muun muassa vetyuunissa valmistetun ruoan, vetyrakettityöpajan, vetykäyttöisten RC-autojen sekä vetysaunan kautta.

Tänä vuonna kävijät pääsivät lisäksi näkemään vedyn koko elinkaaren toiminnassa, tuotannosta ja varastoinnista aina käytännön hyödyntämiseen saakka, kaikki yhdellä tapahtuma-alueella. Monilla kävijöillä oli myös mahdollisuus esittää kysymyksiä ja syventää ymmärrystään vetyteknologioista yhteistyökumppaneidemme Metenerin ja Harvian asiantuntijoiden kanssa. 🤝

Palaamme Jyväskylään jo syyskuussa uuden käytännönläheisen vetytapahtuman merkeissä. Toivottavasti nähdään siellä! 😊

💧 Hydrogen Pitstop returned to Jyväskylä, once again bringing hydrogen closer to the public through hands-on experiences and interactive activities!

Over the three-day event (July 31 to August 1), we welcomed nearly 5,200 visitors. They explored hydrogen through cooking demonstrations with a hydrogen oven, hydrogen rocket workshops, RC car races, and visits to the hydrogen sauna.

This year, visitors could also see the complete hydrogen lifecycle in action, from production and storage to practical use, all at the event site. Thanks to our partners Metener and Harvia, many visitors had the opportunity to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of hydrogen technologies and their real-world applications. 🤝

Raising awareness of hydrogen and its practical applications is at the heart of our mission, and it's rewarding to see that message reaching more people each year.

The journey continues! We'll be back in Jyväskylä with another hands-on hydrogen event this September. We hope to see you there! 😊

Cefmof järjesti maksuttoman Vetyvarikko-yleisötapahtuman, jonka tavoitteena oli tutustuttaa kävijät vedyn käytännön sovelluksiin.

Tapahtuman tarkoituksena oli tehdä vedystä näkyvää, ymmärrettävää ja konkreettista tuomalla esille todellisia käyttöesimerkkejä.

Last week, Finland's Minister of Transport and Communications, Lulu Ranne, visited the Hydrogen Sauna Boat in Jyväskylä. 🚢💧

Developed jointly by Cefmof and Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., the Hydrogen Sauna Boat is a practical pilot project that explores how hydrogen can power waterborne transportation under real operating conditions. The project demonstrates how hydrogen technologies can be tested in everyday environments while supporting the transition to cleaner mobility.

During the visit, we introduced the project and discussed the role of hydrogen in the future of transport. As one of Cefmof's missions is to increase awareness and understanding of hydrogen and its practical applications, the visit provided a valuable opportunity to share our work and exchange perspectives.
