Benaa Foundation is seeking a qualified Technical project Manager to oversee the design and implementation of wastewater and solar systems in a 3-year sewage project funded by the Dutch Embassy.

📍 The project is located in Al-Khanka Center, Qalyubia Governorate, Egypt.

This role ensures engineering standards, sustainability, and successful project delivery in sanitation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
⭐ Supervise technical planning and ex*****on of wastewater and solar systems.
⭐ Coordinate with site engineers and consultants to meet project goals.
⭐ Ensure quality control, troubleshooting, and compliance.

Qualifications:
⭐ Degree in civil or environmental engineering.
⭐ 5+ years of experience in sanitation infrastructure.
⭐ Familiarity with decentralized systems and renewable energy integration.

إعادة تصور كيفية بناء مساكننا — بدءًا من الأساس.

في إطار أسبوع مصر الحضري 2026، تدعوكم هيئة الأمم المتحدة للمستوطنات البشرية (الموئل) بالتعاون مع مؤسسة بناء للمشاركة في ورشة عمل تطبيقية بعنوان:
«البناء بالطين (Building with Earth)»

تقدم هذه الجلسة التفاعلية الحضورية تجربة عملية لاستكشاف كيف يمكن لمواد البناء الطبيعية وتقنيات البناء الترابي أن تسهم في تحقيق حلول سكنية أكثر استدامة، ميسورة التكلفة، ومتجاوبة مع المناخ.

سيشارك الحضور بشكل مباشر في مختلف مراحل التجربة — من فهم المواد إلى التطبيق العملي — لإعادة التفكير في مستقبل الإسكان من خلال حلول محلية منخفضة الأثر البيئي.

Reimagining how we build housing — Starting from the ground up.

As part of Egypt Urban Week 2026, UN-Habitat, in collaboration with Benaa Foundation, invites you to a hands-on Design–Build Workshop: “Building with Earth.”

This *in-person* interactive session explores how natural building materials and earth-based construction techniques can contribute to more sustainable, affordable, and climate-responsive housing solutions.

Attendees will engage directly in the process — from material understanding to practical application — rethinking the future of housing through local, low-impact approaches.

In Colombia, and as part of Water Mirror Project, we had the privilege of understanding local Nexus challenges and seeing firsthand how water treatment is approached differently.

But the experience went beyond workshops and site visit. We connected with people, nature, and culture along the way.

During our stay in Colombia, we visited the ASORUT Water Users Association in the RUT district, the hub of irrigation, drainage, and flood prevention for nearby farming communities.
There, we saw how water is allocated and managed to support farmers, and how different actors, like PhD researchers, farmers, and private companies, are working together to introduce sustainable practices.
Starting from precision sprinklers to soil-moisture monitoring tools, these innovations aim to help small farmers use less water while improving productivity.

On the third day of our visit to Colombia under the Water Mirror Project, we visited Universidad del Valle, where we connected with students, alumni, and researchers from the Cinara Institute.
The session focused on presenting how Egypt manages treated wastewater and reuses it to address water scarcity.

في اليوم الثالث من زيارتنا إلى كولومبيا تحت إطار مشروع Water Mirror، قمنا بزيارة إلى جامعة ديل فايي، حيث التقينا بالطلاب والخريجين والباحثين من معهد سينارا. تركّزت الجلسة على عرض كيفية ادارة مصر لمياه الصرف الصحي المُعالجة، وإعادة استخدامها للتعامل مع ندرة المياه، ومشاركة التجارب الناجحة في مصر كمصدر للإلهام.

In line with the Water Mirror Project, we conducted a field visit in Colombia to Guabas River, accompanied by our partners from Universidad del Valle and the Cinara Institute, with representatives from Colombia’s environmental authority CVC.
During the visit, we explored the key challenges facing the area, including water scarcity during dry seasons, the impact of industrial discharge on water quality, and the monitoring practices used for both river and groundwater to meet agricultural needs.
We also visited the AquaValle wastewater treatment facility, where we observed both the operational and experimental water treatment systems currently in use.

Special thanks to Professor Marie Valdez for making this trip very impactful and beneficial 💙

تحت إطار مشروع Water Mirror، قمنا في كولومبيا بزيارة ميدانية إلى Guabas River، برفقة شركائنا من جامعة ديل فايي ومعهد سينارا في حضور ممثلين من الهيئة البيئة في كولومبيا CVC، حيث تعرفنا على للتحديات التي تواجه المنطقة، مثل ندرة المياه خلال المواسم الجافة، وتأثير الصرف الصناعي على جودة المياه، والممارسات المتبعة لمراقبة المياه في الأنهار والمياه الجوفية وتلبية احتياجات الزراعة. بالإضافة لزيارة محطة معالجة الصرف التابعة لـ AquaValle ومشاهدة أنظمة معالجة المياه المستخدمة فعليا والتجريبية.
