We travelled all the way to Armenia during its parliamentary elections 🇦🇲 🌍

Throughout the week, Armenian Progressive Youth introduced us to Armenia’s rich history, politics, and culture. We immersed ourselves in election observation methodology, shared countless conversations, enjoyed incredible Armenian cuisine, and experienced traditional music and dance.

On June 7, together with VU International 🕊🌏 and APY, we deployed 75 local and international observers who travelled across Armenia to observe the parliamentary elections firsthand — a unique opportunity to witness democracy in action.

A week filled with cultural exchange, meaningful dialogue, learning, and new friendships. 🤝

Join our Election Observation Mission at the 2026 Bosnia and Herzegovina elections as a Coordinator 🇧🇦🗳️

We are heading to Bosnia and Herzegovina for the 2026 general elections and are looking for committed coordinators to join our Election Observation Mission in October.

We’re specifically looking for:
- A Head of Mission
- A Financial Coordinator
- A Press Coordinator
- Two logistics Coordinators

This is a unique chance to gain hands on international experience, strengthen democratic processes, and be part of a dedicated team working for fair and transparent elections.

🇦🇲Yesterday, Armenia went to the polls for the parliamentary elections.

Together with Armenian Progressive Youth and Venstres Ungdom - VU, we had 78 international and Armenian observers throughout the country. 🇦🇲

Wars, political polarization, disinformation, and shrinking civic spaces are shaping the future of democracies across Europe. But what does this look like from the perspective of young people living through it?

Join SILBA and Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke for an interactive conversation with young voices from Ukraine, Georgia, Serbia, Moldova, and Denmark. Together, we’ll explore the challenges facing democracy today and the sources of hope, solidarity, and action that keep people engaged.

An insightful and inspiring week in Hungary has come to an end 🇭🇺✨

Silba sent 40 young international observers to take part in what turned out to be a historical election in Hungary. 🗳️

Throughout the week, we engaged with Hungarian journalists, gained valuable insights from the Hungarian Helsinki Committee, and met Danish students at ELTE University for meaningful cultural exchange.

We also had networking and reflection dinners with other youth organizations and groups engaged in election observation, sharing experiences, perspectives, and ideas across borders. EDDA European Partnership for Democracy Agora Election Observation

On April 12, we travelled across Hungary to observe the parliamentary election firsthand - an unforgettable experience of democracy in action.

In between, we had time to explore the beautiful and historic city of Budapest 🇭🇺❤️

The National Youth Council of Ukraine and SILBA are joining forces in School of Democracy 🇺🇦✨
Preparing young Ukrainians to actively shape the country’s democratic future, the project builds knowledge on elections, dialogue, and civic participation - drawing on experiences from Ukraine, Denmark, and across Europe.
Together, we’re empowering the next generation of voters and changemakers 💬🗳️

Behind the scenes at SILBA... 🇳🇴✨

We’re always working to get better at what we do! Our Financial Manager Aske just returned from a hands-on training in Norway, where he dived deep into the world of European grant applications.

Hello, my name is Aske and in marts I traveled to Norway to participate in the training course ‘The Joy Of Writing Funding Proposals’ (financially supported by the Erasmus+ Program through the Norwegian National Agency and implemented by Creative Connections Norway) in beautiful surroundings in Balestrand. Here I received training in European grants and approaches to them. The training was hands on, where we tried ourself to write applications and got evaluation on these. Overall a great experience, and I would recommend 👌
