Happy World Oceans Day!

We asked our community member, Marie Griesmar, co-founder and COO of rrreefs, how local communities can be better supported to design and protect Marine Protected Areas that work for both people and the ocean.

Her answer is a powerful reminder that lasting conservation happens when communities have a real seat at the table.

Check out the visual to read Marie's full response.

Nature has always been one of our greatest teachers, showing us resilience, balance, adaptation, and the power of interconnectedness.

To mark this year's World Environment Day, we asked changemakers in our community what nature is teaching them about climate action.

Their responses offer powerful insights into how we can learn from nature and turn those lessons into meaningful climate action.

Swipe through to check them out and be inspired by the ways they are creating change in their communities and beyond.

For this International Day for Biodiversity, we connected with Xiomara Acevedo Navarro to get her perspective on grassroots conservation and everyday activism.

Through her incredible work with Barranquilla+20, Xiomara has been a champion for community-led ecosystem restoration, like the defense of the Ciénaga de Mallorquín, while strengthening the leadership of women and girls in climate and environmental justice.

We asked her what is one everyday action people underestimate in protecting biodiversity.

Her answer might surprise you, and it shifts the conversation from standard conservation habits to something much more systemic and community-driven.

Check out the visual to read her full response.

“When did you first realise how deeply plant health affects people’s daily lives?”

For the International Day of Plant Health, our community member Nando Knodel, co-founder of CarbonConnect, reflects on the moment he truly understood the connection between plant health, livelihoods, and food security through his experiences with smallholder farmers in Zimbabwe.

This year’s theme, “Plant Biosecurity for Food Security,” reminds us that protecting plant health means protecting communities, livelihoods, and our shared future.

Check out the visuals for his full response.

🧡 Last month, the ChangemakerXchange (CXC) team came together for our annual calibration week!

As always, it was a mix of strategy, reflection, and simply being human together.

It was equal parts bonding and big-picture thinking, and this year’s conversations have sparked some important shifts in how we imagine the future of CXC and how we can best support changemakers in the years ahead.

For us, this year’s calibration week arrived at an important moment. Across many of the communities and ecosystems we work alongside, the realities facing changemakers have shifted dramatically in recent years.

We left our gathering feeling both grounded and energised for what lies ahead and we have an exciting new direction forward, which we will now get our community’s input on! More soon!

London Climate Action Week (LCAW) is fast becoming one of the most important moments on the global climate calendar.

As part of our Changemakers for the Planet programme, and with support from Enlight Foundation, ChangemakerXchange is proud to support 15 young leaders as delegates to participate in LCAW 2026.

This year’s delegation includes people working on some of the most pressing issues in the climate space right now: the implementation of the ICJ climate ruling, loss and damage funding for frontline communities, youth participation in national climate plans, gender-just climate finance, unconditional cash transfers for climate defenders, the youth statement to the COP presidency, and more.

If you’re attending LCAW, you can catch up with them at the Climate Action Innovation Forum during the opening day on June 22, and at the Youth Climate Summit with the Mayor of London’s team on June 26.

You can also check out the full list of the delegates and their initiatives using the link in the comment section.

World Health Day is being celebrated across the globe today to raise awareness about critical global health themes and promote collective action for a healthier world.

The theme for this year is “Together for health. Stand with science”.

This campaign focuses on celebrating the power of scientific collaboration to protect the health of people, animals, plants, and the planet.

To commemorate this day, we asked Ryn Delpapa (AR+E COMETS), Baliqees Salaudeen-Ibrahim (Green Republic Farms), and Bernadette Ojao (Wabibi Pads), three of our community members,

What is one scientific insight that has fundamentally changed how you approach health or wellbeing in your work?

Check out the visual to read their full responses.
