Coral Heroes 2.0 pilot at Maris Stella VSBO was a BIG success! ✨

Over the past weeks, we executed 5 amazing lessons, diving into Curacaos unique underwater world through a mix of classroom teaching, interactive e-learning, quizzes, creative activities, and hands on discovery. 🪸📚💻

To wrap it all up, the students created and presented their very own kijkdoos projects bringing their ocean knowledge and creativity to life! 🎨

A huge thank you to Maris Stella VSBO, SubLime Diving, Curaçao Sea Aquarium and Branch Coral Foundation for being part of this meaningful journey. Together, we’re inspiring the next generation of Coral Heroes! 🌊🫶

GreenKidz at the LionsDive Local Market 🌴💚

Last week we once again had a lovely evening at the LionsDive Local Market, filled with creativity and learning. ✨

At our interactive stand, children could play, discover and learn more about nature, recycling and keeping Curaçao clean. We also shared our educational coloring books and loved seeing so many kids excited about sustainability in a fun and creative way 🌿♻️

Every donation and purchase helps us continue creating educational projects and workshops for children on the island, so thank you so much for your support!

A big thank you again to our amazing partner LionsDive Beach Resort for having us at this beautiful community event. We are always grateful to be part of it 💚

Last week, GreenKidz celebrated Earth Day with a special event at Sambil Curaçao centered around the educational short film Tene Kòrsou Limpi 🎬🌍

Together with 120 students from the Marnix School, we used film, creativity and discussion to talk about littering, recycling and the importance of keeping Curaçao clean. After watching the film, the students joined interactive workshops, debates, recycling games and creative activities connected to sustainability and Earth Day ♻️🎨

What made this day so special was seeing children actively think along about solutions for their island. From discussing environmental challenges to imagining themselves as future leaders of Curaçao, the students showed so much creativity, awareness and passion 💚

Last Saturday we hosted a fun and creative recycling workshop for three groups of primary school students during Book Week

We did this in collaboration with Biblioteka Nashonal Korsou ♻️📚 a much valued GreenKidz partner.

We inspired children to get creative with recycled materials and learn more about sustainability and recycling on Curacao in a playful way 🌱

We’re especially proud that this workshop was led by our own GreenKidz team members Shevon and Moquisha, who are talented LOFO students 💚 and we are glad that the University of Curacao ands its LOFO program for young teachers in training is willing to collaborate on different GreenKidz projects these coming months.

🌿✨ Last Saturday, we hosted a special preview screening of the short film 🎬 Tene Korsou Limpi at our new building!

This inspiring event was made possible thanks to the support of and Alex Roose, the initiator of the film 💚

We proudly welcomed 70+ guests from the education sector , government , environmental organizations , and community partners 🤝.

Together, we explored an important question:
💭 How can this film encourage children and parents to take better care of our island? 🇨🇼🌱

During an open brainstorm session 💡, we discussed how the film can be used at events and developed into a practical blended learning tool for schools . Our goal is to make this bilingual film freely accessible to primary schools across Curaçao, while also supporting teachers with innovative and interactive digital tools to use it effectively in the classroom 🎓.
