Our Executive Director Mr Bochum Samuel Bache honored invitation from the Regional Director of National Civic Service Agency for Participation in Development (ASC NPD) for the Southwest Region madam Rose Mwambo Namondo under the supervision of the Ministère de la Jeunesse et de l'Education Civique 237 Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education to empower some 150 conscrpts on the topic: Youths as Architect of Development and Peace, who are currently undergoing a 30 days intensive training at the Christ the King College in Tiko to develop their capacity towards civic values, national integration and participation in community and economic development.

Ahead of the International Youth Day Celebration 2026, through support training and knowledge gained from House of Trust for Peace, we hosted a Trust for Peace Youth Dialogue today 29th July 2026 under the theme: Building Understanding and Social Cohesion among Community Actors, which took place at the Conference Hall of the Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education,Buea-SWR.

This dialogue brought together some selected 25 students of the department of International Relations and Conflict Resolution of the University of Buea to discuss more on the common issues that causes Distrust and how to rebuild Trust.

Some key concepts where discussed on like what is peace, dialogue ,social cohesion, community, community actors and their roles in peace and development.

The was a deep reflection on the 7 elements of Tree of Trust with the participants who gained detailed explanation about it and also shared their own understanding on the application of the 7 elements on daily basis like Co-responsibility, Empathy, Consistency, Independence, Acceptance, Forgiveness and so on.
The dialogue allowed all participants to speak, understand and share experience as well as draw commitments to be different in their approach to life and interaction in order to build trust, foster social cohesion and promote peace and prosperity.

There was excitement about the new knowledge learnt about the Tree of Trust.
The session ended with feedback, a word of encouragement from an official of the Ministry of Youth Affairs,group photos and refreshments.

YAPCEC in collaboration with CYNDYBLESS Foundation on Saturday the 20th of June 2026 jointly with an Improbable Dialogue Seed Grant support from Local Youth Corner Cameroon (LOYOC) through funding from Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) for the local implementation of the project "Youth Participation in Peace Building" organized a one day quality dialogue in Fako Division, of the Southwest Region of Cameroon on the theme: "From Blame To Collaboration; An Improbable Dialogue on Waste Management and Peacebuilding in Buea.

The dialogue brought together some 20 carefully selected leaders of environmental and peace building associations, ministry of Environment, ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Hygiene and Sanitation Cameroon (HYSACAM) company incharge of keeping the city of Buea clean for a frank and open dialogue on the intersection between waste management and peace amongst the population of Buea.

Participants discussed and explore on the perceptions and misconceptions about waste and peace, they identified common concerns and shared interests with focus to move from the idea of blaming to the habit of taking up ownership together to address the common challenges.
The participants also looked at key waste challenges in the quarters or neighbourhoods, practical solutions and the different stakeholders to effectively collaborate to ensure a clean and peaceful city.

Lastly the participants had a deep reflection and took up commitment through workable and actionable action plans for the next 30 days to ensure replication of similar actions across their different areas of operations within the city of Buea and it environs.

Some of the commitments were to engage in serious and continuous awareness creation through different social media and local media on the need for proper waste disposal and management

Also to carry out school sensitisation campaigns and creation of school clubs for environmental peace

They also take a commitment to educate the population on the ideas of transforming their waste into wealth

They took commitment to come out with good environmental policy briefs to engage the government and other stakeholders to action

They took commitment to organise workshops and seminars to educate and empower different actors on the need for collective action to waste management and peace building

They also took commitment to create a common WhatsApp group to share updates of their different activities, involve and invite others to their activities to amplify efforts

They also took commitment to come up with electronic advocacy environmental posters and flyers to share across their different socials media handles to create more awareness and
Lastly they took commitment to develop short 2 minutes maximum environmental education and peace videos to share and increase awareness on environmental peace.

The beauty dialogue was coordinated by our Executive Director Mr Bochum Samuel Bache and madam Atemkeng Cynthia Cynthia Paradise of CYNDYBLESS Foundation under the supervision of Local Youth Corner Cameroon (LOYOC) regional staff in Buea, Southwest Madam Sanyi Esther.

All glory to God for a successful event from beginning to end with appreciation to all participants, volunteers and service providers for a healthy and supportive event.

YAPCEC honored an invitation from Reconciliation and Development Association -RADA join other 29 Civil Society Organisations drawn across the Northwest, Center, Southwest, Litoral Regions of Cameroon in a two days intense workshop organised in Buea from the 3-4 of June 2026 towards Strengthening Civil Society Coordination and State-CSOs Engagement.

The workshop was under the FESECSA Advocacy Initiative which had it support from CIVICUS, the workshop provided a space for honest dialogue, exchange between the different civil society actors to examine common challenges, mistakes and limitations on effective compliance to state laws governing the operation of the civil space as well as government weaknesses in order promote inclusive participation towards fostering and peaceful and supportive framework for corporation and development in Cameroon

Youth Advocates for Peace and Community Empowerment Cameroon "YAPCEC" actively participated in the discussions that led to the drafting of the National Framework for Structured and Protected Engagement between the State and Civil Society Organizations (FESECSA), as a possible outcome to strengthen and improve working relationship for good governance and respect and peace.
