Site visits at Elephant Thoughts, Kikendaasogamig Elementary School and Ed Taylor Community Garden happened today. We were able to chat with Simona and Deidra about the future food forests that will be planted later this month. Thank you Affinity Habitat Studio for working with us to help provide food into the future.

Miigwech! I am so thankful for the love and support. Thank you Sahand and Teresa for putting in all the time to organize the fundraising event. Thank you the safety team from Camp Celtic. Thank you to all the donations of funds and gift cards. Thank you for local businesses providing gifts to the swimmers. Thank you to all the swimmers. Thank you to the other organizers/supports. It takes a community to organize such and event and thankful for the community support. I hope I didn’t forget anyone, and if I did, I apologize. My heart is full of gratitude. Explored J.J. Plaus Park today with my good friends Rino Noto and Paola Noto. It was a gorgeous afternoon and a new place for me to see. It was good to see Lake Ontario. I was able purchase an amazing lemonade from a young fella during my mini adventure. I hope he is successful with his fundraiser. Great friends, good conversation and delicious lemonade.

Today’s the day!

The Escarpment Biosphere Conservancy’s Annual Monarch Butterfly Festival is happening today at the Bruce Peninsula National Park Visitor Centre in Tobermory!

Come and join us anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for a day of monarch activities, learning, tagging, migration fun and more.

Then, as the sun goes down, we’ll meet again at Alvar Bay Nature Preserve for an evening Bat Walk from 8:00–9:00 p.m.

Come for the monarchs, stay for the bats — we’d love to see you there!

A huge congratulations to Rino Noto for being one of the collaborators in the Altered States opening tonight. ❤️ Beautiful pieces of work. If you get a chance, look it up. Rino has worked with Bagida’waad over the years and have shared some of his amazing skills with our Aki-guardians. 📸

I went with a friend to Algonquin on a guided three days trip. What a fantastic mini adventure. The guide was wonderful and knowledgeable. Beavers, otters, blue herons, loons, snakes and plenty more were seen. The weather was a mixed bag but we packed properly so we were comfortable. Now I am ready for a busy autumn….. Oops, did I say that. 😉

Visiting Toronto and talking collaborations, how to inspire others and how to create community. A long time friend Miriam introduced me to her new work environment and what an an incredible place it is. A community kitchen at UofT. I was able to explore and be in awe of their amazing rooftop garden. It was a really unique view for me, to view a gorgeous garden with the CN tower in the background and listen to red-tailed hawks above.
