Durham Regional Police Pipes & Drums The Durham Regional Police Pipes & Drums is a community based organization, created in 1996 Most band members are civilian volunteers.

The Durham Regional Police Pipes & Drums was formed by Staff Sergeant Charlie Green and Sergeant Roy Good in 1996. The band wears the McAlpine tartan commemorating Chief Kevin McAlpine, the fourth Chief of the Durham Regional Police Service. They serve as ambassadors and represent the Service with pride wherever performing; be that at a formal police ceremony, local parade or pipe band competition

. This group travels across the province to compete at various highland games. The pipe band's mission is to represent and help foster the hard work and dedication characteristic of the Service. Administration and management of the pipe section and the drum corps, as well as the teaching program, is under direction and leadership of Pipe Major and Durham Regional Police Constable Mike Lasseter and Lead Drummer Ted Berlinghoff. Grade 4 Band rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. Grade 5 Band rehearsals and the lessons are held on Sunday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. Rehearsals take Place at the Durham Regional Police Training and Education Centre, located at 1400 Victoria Street East, in Whitby
