Engineers Without Borders EWB - University of Waterloo

We are University of Waterloo students driven to tackle complex challenges. Interested in joining EWB? Email [email protected] to get involved!

EWB harnesses the problem-solving approach, technical skills, and creative pragmatism of the Canadian engineering sector to address the root causes of poverty. Here in Canada, we engage Canadians, our government, companies, and universities to build their connections to Africa and make choices that promote and contribute to human development. Our overseas volunteers partner with local entrepreneurs, organisations, and government ministries in the areas of water and sanitation, agricultural productivity and market access, and governance in rural infrastructure.

🌱 Second General Meeting Recap!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our second General Meeting of the term!

A huge shoutout to Gabriel for leading our “Finding Your Why” reflection workshop 💭 Through a series of activities and discussions, members had the chance to step back, reflect on what motivates them, and think more intentionally about the kind of impact they want to make.

We hope everyone walked away with some meaningful insights - and maybe a clearer sense of their own “why.” 💚

We also shared updates on upcoming EWB opportunities, our portfolios, and ways to get more involved with the chapter this term.

Missed the meeting? The workshop slides and our General Member + Lead/Executive application forms are available through our Discord/link in bio!

Thank you again to Gabriel and everyone who came out - we’re excited to keep building, learning, and growing together this term 🌍🛠️

Finding your why. 🧡

EWB isn’t the purpose — it’s the vehicle. This Tuesday, we’re getting the whole chapter together to reflect on the values and moments that actually drive us, and figure out how to bring that into the work we do here.

Expect honest conversation, some sticky notes, and a chance to connect with people across the chapter — new members and veterans alike.

Come as you are and see you soon! 🌞
