What an amazing weekend we were proud to be a part of!

Traditionally, the Homecoming Parade has always been a Saturday tradition — but we have to say, kicking off the FINAL DAY of Walkerton Homecoming 2026 with a parade was pretty special!

Our streets were lined with people, the entries were incredible, and it was the perfect way to start an unforgettable closing day.

A HUGE thank you to our Parade Sponsor, Walkerton Toyota, for helping make it possible, and to the Walkerton Kinsmen Club for organizing an amazing parade from start to finish!

The final Walkerton Kinsmen gathering of the year, the President’s BBQ!

Thanks to our Kinsmen for their contributions to the club, and community over the past year.

Although we won’t be meeting until September, you can catch us at many events this summer including driving people movers at Pickin’ by the Pond, cooking up burgers and fries at The Dirt Pigs weekend and organizing the parade at Walkerton Homecoming 2026 to name a few!

At our penultimate Kinsmen meeting of the year we recognized two of our members of distinction.

Stephen “Speedy” Spitzig has completed 20 or so (we lost count) years as our club treasurer, putting in many hours behind the scenes to manage our expenses, donations, and reporting obligations.

Logan Lamont was recognized as the 2025-2026 Kinsmen of the Year for his dedicated service. As a newer member he jumped right in, organizing our Valentine’s fundraiser and serving on the executive.

Thank you both gentlemen for your service to our club, and the Kin mission of serving the community’s greatest needs 👏

Start: 11:00am

Where: Parade will start at the former recycling depot at the west end of McGivern street

Route: Start at the old recycling depot, down past Brucelea Haven and turn onto Victoria Street, down Main Street to finish with a left turn at the Walkerton Arena. Roughly a 2km distance.

*Route is tentative dependant on number of floats.

All floats welcome! Floats consisting of horses must provide adequate insurance policy information.
