Happy Canada Day!🇨🇦

Today, we celebrate more than our beautiful country—we celebrate the remarkable women who helped shape it.

We stand on the shoulders of courageous women who dared to dream bigger, speak louder, and fight for equality. Women who championed the right to vote, broke barriers in science, politics, business, education, sports, and the arts, and paved the way for generations to come.

Because of their courage, Canada has become a place where diversity is celebrated, where women are free to pursue their passions, embrace their individuality, and become whoever they aspire to be. A country where opportunity, human rights, education, and inclusion help turn dreams into reality.

This Canada Day, we honour every woman who came before us—and every woman who continues to lead with courage, compassion, and purpose. May we never take their sacrifices for granted, and may we continue building a Canada where every girl knows her voice matters, her dreams are valid, and her future has no limits.

A mother’s love is one of the purest forms of strength in this world. It is found in the sleepless nights, the silent sacrifices, the endless encouragement, and the unconditional support given without asking for anything in return. Mothers carry the weight of their families with grace, love deeply even through challenges, and continue to give pieces of themselves to help others grow.

Their kindness comforts, their wisdom guides, and their resilience inspires generations. A mother is a protector, teacher, healer, and the heart of a home. Today, we celebrate every mother, grandmother, stepmother, and mother figure for the love they pour into the lives around them every single day.

The Lotus Hope Foundation joined York Regional Police and over 60 Community Organizations at today to acknowledge and promote awareness for the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

There were many beautiful cultural performances showcasing York Region's diverse communities.

The Honourable Mayor Scarpitti delivered a very heart warming speech. He reminded us how fortunate we are to be living in such a diverse, and safe country.
