Sweet treats was on the menu this evening. Thank you Melissa Pagett for showing our girls how to make marshmellow rice crispy squares and more.

They were so happy to go home with their own goodie bag. ☺️

Rosemary Azubuike ( GHAMP Inc. Volunteer) we couldn't have run these cooking classes the way we did without your additional help. Thank you.🙌

This Black History Month, we want to share the “why” behind the E.X.H.A.L.E Girls Club because it’s very close to our hearts.

At G.H.A.M.P Inc., our hope is simple: that every girl has a place where she feels safe, valued, and like she belongs—especially girls of African descent ages 7–11 who may sometimes feel overlooked or misunderstood.

E.X.H.A.L.E is not just an after-school program; it’s a steady, welcoming space where girls from all backgrounds are encouraged, supported, and reminded that they matter. And when girls feel confident and cared for, it strengthens families and helps our Woodstock community grow more connected.

E.X.H.A.L.E started with three energetic, fun-loving Black girls right here in Carleton County. Week after week, we watched them come alive just by being together. Even though their cultures were different—Afro-Canadian/Caribbean and African—their lived experiences were often similar, and the club became a place where they didn’t have to explain themselves… they could just be. That feeling of belonging was powerful.

When we opened the club to girls of all racial backgrounds, the joy only grew. Today, we’re grateful to have families represented from Canadian, African, Latin American, and Filipino cultures.

One of the most meaningful things we see is confidence growing in everyday ways—like reading. Hearing a child say, “But I can’t read…” and later seeing her proudly ask, “Can I read?” is the kind of change that stays with you. It’s why we want to reach and support so many more girls.

(If you have a girl who is struggling with reading and she’s between the ages of 7–11, please reach out to us.)

If you have read this far..THANK YOU...

Maybe our cause is of interest?

If you would you like to help us keep E.X.H.A.L.E going in 2026 and beyond here are a few ways you can support:

Monthly donation of $20 or more via e-transfer: [email protected]

Thank you for reading, sharing, and giving—every act of support helps us keep this safe, uplifting space going for our girls.
