This is the first of a beautiful eight-stanza song (bhajan) by the 19th century spiritual visionary, Bhaktivinoda Thakura. It refers to the first light of dawn filling the eastern sky. Chaitanya awakens with a heart full of compassion. Surrounded by His beloved companions, He walks from village to village, inviting everyone to awaken their own hearts through the joyful meditation of sacred mantras.
