Annex Cat Rescue is a Toronto-based, 100% volunteer registered charity founded in 1997. Our mission is to address the problem of homeless & street cats in Toronto by spaying/neutering, bringing adoptable cats into our foster/adoption program, managing colonies of feral cats (those who are not adoptable), and educating the public about responsible pet ownership and living with community cats. Cats live with foster families or in managed colonies.

Jimmy is the more outgoing of the two, happily accepting pets and greeting his people. Riff is a little shyer but has been steadily building confidence and loves treats, cozy naps, and quiet affection on his own terms.

With time, patience, and a calm home, Riff and Jimmy will reward you with their sweet personalities and unwavering bond!

Meet Moxie! A curious, clever and energetic young cat. Moxie will always keep you on your toes, while playing with you! Moxie loves to be pet and enjoys cuddles. When she’s not running around with her toys, you can catch Moxie relaxing in her cat tree, or people watching from a window.

Jimmy Neutron is a loyal, incredibly affectionate boy and the ultimate cuddle bug! Wherever you are, he’ll be right by your side ... warming your lap, supervising your work-from-home day or soaking up all the kisses and head scratches you can give. He absolutely melts when held and is perfectly happy being carried around like a baby.

Though shy at first with new people, Jimmy’s playful, energetic personality quickly shines once he feels safe and comfortable. He loves playtime, especially wand toys, and is a huge foodie with a hilarious enthusiasm for mealtime. Expect adorable happy dances, impressive vocal performances and a cat who is forever convinced he hasn’t eaten in days (so guard your dinner plate carefully!).

Jimmy would thrive in a calm, quiet home where he can feel secure and loved. He’d be happiest as the king of the castle soaking up all your attention but he could also do well with another playful, energetic cat companion.

Meet Fluffy! At around one year old, she is still very much a kitten at heart: playful, curious, clever and just a little mischievous. This smart girl once figured out how to unlatch the bars on her cage! She loves chasing her red ball, exploring her surroundings and curling up in her cozy cat bed after a busy day of adventures.

One or two adults and one or two gentle, non-dominant cats would be an ideal situation for her. Because of her timid nature, Fluffy is looking for adopters who understand sensitive cats and are willing to let her settle in at her own pace. For more info: annexcatrescue.ca/adopt/adoptable-cats

Rodney is a gentle, sweet boy with soft purrs, little chirps, and a big heart.

Once he trusts you, he loves neck scratches, treats, brushing sessions, and window watching. Rodney enjoys calm days, playful nights with spring toys, and the comforts of indoor life.

He’s looking for a peaceful, patient home where he can continue to blossom. Rodney has arthritis that’s managed with simple ongoing care and has had most of his teeth removed, but it doesn’t slow him down one bit.

Meet Momo! This handsome senior gentleman is equal parts cuddle bug, biscuit-maker and professional lounger. If your dream cat is calm, affectionate and happiest curled up beside you for a cozy night in, Momo may just be your perfect match. He’d do best as the only pet in an adults-only household with a predictable routine.

Life hasn’t always been easy for Momo (his tattered little ears tell part of that story) but despite everything, he has blossomed into a loving companion. One of our favourite Momo quirks? He patiently waits for your morning alarm before softly patting your nose and reminding you it’s breakfast time. Such impeccable manners!

🐾 May is Food Allergy Awareness Month!

Some human foods can be dangerous — and even toxic — for cats. While it may be tempting to share snacks with our feline friends, certain foods can seriously harm their health.

🚫 Foods cats should avoid:
• Chocolate
• Onions & garlic
• Grapes & raisins
• Caffeine
• Xylitol (found in gum/candy)
• Alcohol
• Raw dough

If your cat accidentally eats something toxic, contact your veterinarian immediately.
