Ontario Camps Association

The OCA is a voluntary, non-profit organization devoted to maintaining high standards for summer camps and outdoor education centres.

We support, advance, promote, and accredit camps throughout Ontario. The OCA is a non-profit organization representing over 400 camps and over 100 Preferred Vendors who are committed to creating the best camp experience for all campers, staff and volunteers through a commitment of meeting government regulations and best practices.

Thank you, Rebecca, Jess and Lynda, for taking us on a tour of Camp Shalom. The camp spirit was strong, and we loved hearing about the upcoming Shalom Super Bowl! It was truly magical seeing the property, from the beautiful waterfront to the incredible rock climbing wall built into the Canadian Shield. It was also incredible meeting the camp's goats, Bootsie and Thunder! We hope the Camp Shalom team has an amazing year.

Thank you, Neil and Sharon, for taking us on a tour of Ontario Pioneer Camp! It was incredible seeing the three different sections - Adventure, Girls and Boys - that make up the Ontario Pioneer Camp, and all the magical touches that make each one feel special. We loved hearing about the "Pioneer Post", the system that allows campers from the different sections to send mail to their friends and siblings across camp. We also enjoyed our delicious lunch and hearing about Sharon's cookbook! We hope the whole Ontario Pioneer Camp team has an amazing year!

Standards Visitors Jenny and Suzy visited Debate Camp as a part of their process of becoming Accredited Members! Did you know that to become an OCA Accredited Camp or Outdoor Education Centre, organizations are visited at least twice as a part of their Provisional application process.

Happy long weekend! The OCA Office will be closed on Monday, August 3. The staff will be focusing on their mental health and taking a break for some self-care - we hope you're doing the same!

Thank you, Lian from Pickering College, Newmarket Ontario, for taking us on a tour of the camp! It was amazing to learn how the summer camp program has grown, from a P1 to a fully Accredited member in the past few years! It was wonderful to see the new buildings and additions, and hear about renovations and upcoming projects! The OCA Team could feel the camp magic in the air, and it was wonderful to see so many happy campers and staff. We hope the whole Pickering College team has an amazing year!

Thank you, Tammy and Sidney from Tim Hortons Foundation Camps, for taking us on a tour of the Onondaga Farms site! It was truly magical to explore the rolling hills and wetlands across the well-maintained property. It was wonderful to hear the impact that camp has had on youth across the province, and the partnerships the camp has with local communities as well. It was also a pleasure to meet and feed all the adorable farm animals. Wishing the Tim Hortons Foundation Camps team continued success this summer and beyond!
