For 30 flights out of Winnipeg, Dreams Take Flight has been creating magical memories for deserving children — powered by incredible volunteers, community support, and a whole lot of heart. 💙

Their next milestone is a big one: the 30th Anniversary Flight on November 3!

The Greater Glass Co. is working to raise awareness about human trafficking, educate youth and families, and create greater safety and hope for survivors.

The Greater Glass Co. provides a necessary response to the prevalence of human s*x trafficking. We exist to help people to understand their created purpose, advocate for the vulnerable, amplify the voices of survivors and advance the good work already being done through education.

The jewelry serves as a tangible reminder of their message: **even something broken or discarded can have beauty and value — and every individual has inherent worth.**

🐾 Non-Profit Spotlight: Wild Rose Humane Society-Didsbury, Alberta

Meet Wild Rose Humane Society, a volunteer-driven organization caring for more than 140 cats and dogs each year. 💛

From providing shelter and lifesaving veterinary care to helping abandoned animals find loving homes, their work is made possible through volunteers, community support, and donations.

Right now, WRHS is also preparing for their 5th Annual Big Bash on October 23, raising funds to help cover veterinary costs and other care needs.

Reconciliation is not just about remembering the past. It is about how we choose to move forward — with respect, understanding, compassion, and a commitment to building stronger communities together.

Today, we encourage everyone to take a moment to learn, reflect, and continue the conversation.

Our friends from the Knights of Columbus Council 1412 are honoured to present an event from their Community Partner, Right to Life Kent and we’ve attached a poster for our upcoming their fundraiser on October 17, 2026 - “WALK for Life”!!!

Details are:

3 km walk at Kingston Park - Meet at the Pavillion (closest to Paxton Drive)
Registration: 10:00 to 11:00 am with coffee/tea/donuts

WALK at 11:00 am

*FREE PIZZA LUNCH provided after the walk*

Organize a team or walk solo. They appreciate and value your participation!

There will be prizes for most money raised as well as CHOOSE LIFE T-shirts for participants.
