Toronto is experiencing a deep freeze. Wind chills throughout the week — and into the weekend — are expected to make it feel –20°C or colder, with some nights potentially dipping as low as –30°C by Friday and Saturday. Snowfall is not the main concern in the city, but snow squalls are expected in Ontario's snowbelt areas, including parts of Niagara, Simcoe County, Barrie, Guelph, Newmarket, and the Kingston region, where conditions can change quickly. The City of Toronto is opening additional warming centres, including Cecil Community Centre and Jimmie Simpson Recreation Centre, to help residents stay safe. Dress warmly, limit time outdoors when possible, and check in on anyone who may need extra support ❄️
