Canadian Tamil Congress Supports Healthcare in Mullaitivu District
As part of the 2026 May 18th Remembrance, the Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC) is proud to have supported healthcare institutions in the Mullaitivu District through a meaningful humanitarian initiative.
CTC donated 50 mattresses to two key hospitals; Puthukudiyiruppu Hospital and Poonakery Hospital to help improve patient care and comfort. This initiative was made possible through the generous contribution of Dr. Kan Chandra (Canada), whose support continues to strengthen vital community needs in the North and East of Sri Lanka.
The official handover ceremony was attended by CTC Humanitarian Projects Coordinator for Sri Lanka, Mr. Thushyanthan Thurairatnam, Board Director of the North and East Economic Development Centre, Mr. Piratheepan Sothylingam, Dr. Paranitharan, Mr. Suntharalingam, along with dedicated hospital staff.
During the May Remembrance period, CTC has remained deeply committed to supporting war-affected communities in the North and East of Sri Lanka. Through ongoing humanitarian initiatives, CTC continues to contribute towards rebuilding lives, fostering economic stability, and ensuring a dignified quality of life for those impacted.
மே 18 முள்ளிவாய்க்கால் நினைவேந்தலை முன்னிட்டு, முல்லைத்தீவு மாவட்டத்திலுள்ள சுகாதார நிறுவனங்களுக்கு கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை (CTC) மனிதாபிமான உதவி வழங்கியுள்ளது.
நோயாளர்களின் பராமரிப்பு மற்றும் வசதிக்காக புதுக்குடியிருப்பு மற்றும் பூநகரி ஆகிய இரு முக்கிய மருத்துவமனைகளுக்கு கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை 50 மெத்தைகளை நன்கொடையாக வழங்கியுள்ளது. இலங்கையின் வடக்கு மற்றும் கிழக்கு மாகாணங்களின் அத்தியாவசியத் தேவைகளுக்கு தொடர்ந்து ஆதரவளித்து வரும் கனடாவைச் சேர்ந்த வைத்தியர் கண் சந்திரா அவர்களின் தாராளமான நிதிப் பங்களிப்பின் மூலம் இத்திட்டம் சாத்தியமாகியுள்ளது.
இந்த உத்தியோகபூர்வ கையளிப்பு நிகழ்வில், இலங்கைக்கான கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவையின் மனிதாபிமான திட்டங்களின் ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் திரு. துஷ்யந்தன் துரைரத்தினம், வடக்கு கிழக்கு பொருளாதார மேம்பாட்டு மையத்தின் (NEED Centre) பணிப்பாளர் சபை உறுப்பினர் திரு. பிரதீபன் சோதிலிங்கம், மருத்துவர் பரணிதரன், திரு. சுந்தரலிங்கம் மற்றும் மருத்துவமனை ஊழியர்கள் கலந்துகொண்டனர்.
மே நினைவேந்தல் காலத்தில் இலங்கையின் வடக்கு மற்றும் கிழக்கில் போரினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட சமூகங்களுக்கு ஆதரவளிப்பதில் கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை தீவிர அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது. தொடர்ச்சியான பல மனிதாபிமான முயற்சிகள் மூலம், பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்களின் வாழ்க்கையை மீண்டும் கட்டியெழுப்பவும், பொருளாதார ஸ்திரத்தன்மையை வளர்க்கவும், அவர்களின் கண்ணியமான வாழ்க்கைத் தரத்தை உறுதிப்படுத்தவும் கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை தொடர்ந்து பங்களிப்பு செய்து வருகிறது.
