Dunhuang art embodies the cultural fusion between East and West along the Silk Road. Since the 20th century, research on the Dunhuang caves and the artifacts discovered in the Library Cave has developed into an international discipline — Dunhuang Studies. Today, Dunhuang culture continues to promote international cultural exchange and progress.

Dr. Zhao Shengliang
Doctor of Art History, is a Research Fellow and Chairman of the Academic Committee at the Dunhuang Academy, and a Counselor to the People's Government of Gansu Province. He has devoted his career to the study of Dunhuang grottoes and Chinese art history, publishing more than 120 academic papers and over 20 books.

With the theme of 'Resonance of Dunhuang', this concert uses music to highlight the cultural convergence and continuity between Dunhuang and Hong Kong. Acting as a medium that connects the past, present and future, music transforms the rich visual and cultural essence of the Mogao Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, into a contemporary musical experience. The concert takes the audience on a journey through time and space, offering them the opportunity to experience the splendour of the Silk Road and the cultural charm of Hong Kong.
