We understand that our decision to do so might come as a setback to many families and individuals, but rest assured, we are working on organizing another Free Food Market, and will update you as soon as a date has been finalized.

To honour the spirit of giving and community support that the festival of Vesak is known for, we encourage everyone to donate nonperishable goods to help families in need, so that fewer people go to bed hungry.

Alongside and the , we invite you all to donate all that you can spare at our Food Drive Stall at Mississauga's Celebration Square on 23 May, from 2pm to 6pm.

Our Free Food Market returns on Saturday, May 23, at Sai Dham Food Bank in Etobicoke, from 12 noon to 2pm.

A cornerstone of our efforts to combat food insecurity in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, our Food Market makes sure that fewer people go to bed hungry.

All you need to do is register in advance, and on the day, bring your ID and a reusable bag.

Thank you so much to and for their enormous donation of muffins, on the occasion of Mother’s Day!

Over 1,700 packages were picked up, which means that mothers who rely on food hampers can send their children to school with an extra treat in their backpacks!

Together, we are fighting to end food insecurity, and making sure that no child goes to school hungry!

Mother’s Day is a celebration of care, sacrifice, and unconditional love.

At Sai Dham Food Bank, we see that same love reflected every day in the mothers we serve, the mothers who volunteer, and the mothers who make sure no child goes hungry.

Today, we honour them all.

Because a full plate is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to show love ...and every family deserves that dignity.

In March, about 26 seniors participated in our wellness programs which totalled 88 hours over the span of a month.

Seniors benefited from improved health through programs built across four areas of development:

- Physical wellness
- Education and awareness
- Cognitive and recreational activities
- Creative and social activities

Seniors wellness is a cornerstone of our commitment to community developments at Sai Dham. After all, they are the generation that dedicated their best years to us.

Now, it is time for us to give back.

As an immigrant to Canada herself, Jessica Pineda of Parkway Public Schools, part of the setup, knows the challenges that other newcomers face when it comes to putting food on the table for their families.

Efforts like the Children's Breakfast Program go a long way in making sure that no child goes to school hungry, affording them proper mental development, and enabling them to do well in class.

Last week, we welcomed teams from to our food bank, where they worked all day alongside our volunteers to pack hampers for those in need of food assistance.

It is often said that many hands make light work, and through our combined efforts, we can now make sure that fewer people go to bed hungry.

We are most grateful for the community support provided to us, and look forward to collaborating with more organizations in future!

Canadians will soon receive an additional cash injection to make their groceries more affordable.

If you qualify for the GST/HST credit, you could receive an extra payment up to $717 in the coming weeks, under the Canada Groceries and Essential Benefit.

Government measures like this - no matter how small - are a crucial step towards fighting food insecurity.
