A mother in West Palm Beach is demanding accountability after she says a therapy center she trusted violated that trust in the worst possible way.
Through tears, Hernandez described watching surveillance footage of her young son inside a therapy room. What began as a simple game of catch quickly escalated. Video shared with CBS12 News allegedly shows a therapist striking the child with a sneaker, throwing a ball at him, and then throwing a shoe at close range.
Her son, who is autistic and non verbal, had been attending sessions for months at Maximum Achievers alongside his twin brother. After one Friday session, she says she immediately sensed something was wrong, noticing he was shaking. At home, she found what appeared to be bruises and a bite mark and rushed him to the emergency room.
She later requested surveillance footage from the center’s owner and claims the incident was downplayed and that police would not be contacted. The center has since stated the employee was fired and that they are cooperating with law enforcement.
“No parent should ever have to see their child hurt like this,” she said. She is now calling for the center to be shut down and for criminal charges to be pursued.
